my fav online radio station CFM is windows-only eh...can't stream in linux...but the question is....can't you really? is there a way how i can get it to play in linux because i really want to listen and i don't want to use windows because of it (all my other stuff is in linux)

their website is

1club.fm or clubfmradio.com which ever one you like best

Hm... if you can actually get the ASPX stream file, it's quite easy, mplayer will stream any of the stuff. The annoying part is, they're hiding the entire interface behind that annoying window of theirs, so there's no way for mplayer to actually access the file that's being streamed. In any case, if you can get the name of the file, just use mplayer to open the file, and you should be able to stream.

Have you tried using mplayerplug-in? Its a Firefox/Mozilla plugin acting as a conduit for mplayer.

i have not tried yet. i cannot really try because my laptop is brocken (if you read the "i think i fried my gpu" thread in general.). it will be a month at least before i can.

or i can always try it on my desktop (computer i am using right now...Vida LInux OS). Are those things available on the portage tree? where can i find an ebuild?
meh..can't help with portage..

i know that the vlc plugin option is available when installing regular vlc in the debian and redhat packages. I would imagine the same would be for portage.

neither of those proggies do portage. i do have rpm and apt installed so if i can find an rpm or a deb i will install.

What? Sure they do! vlc, mplayer, mplayerplug-in (don't know about vlc plug-in though). Oh wait, you'd be running amd64, wouldn't you? Yeah, thats a bummer.

see, the point is not just ANY streaming station, the point is to get 1Club.fm (formerly ClubFM Radio) to stream. I can always use iTunes or Rhythmbox to stream something like Digitally Imported.

Have you tried this? It's an extension for firefox supposedly works with linux as well as windows. https://addons.update.mozilla.org/ex...umpg=50&id=446

its an add-on that launches a media player when a type of media is crossed upon on the internet. you have to have the actual player installed for it to work. thanks for the tip though.

I was looking for plugins for firefox and saw that. It was worth a shot.
