Plextor 8X DVD-RW +RW DVD Recorder

I just ordered the PX-708A(8x dvd burner) off of newgg.

I'm really excited. This is my first DVD burner. It can burn a 4.7 gig DVD +r dvd is nine minutes. I download literally gigs and gigs of anime and I've been burning them to CDs. I currently have a 90 gigs of anime on my hard drives. With this burner I'll be able to burn them to DVD in 3 hours. It would take me 11 hours of constant burning to use CDs. It also burns CDs faster than my current drive, 40x as opposed the 36x. I am so jazzed about this. It almost negates the shock of spending $255 on a burner.

it sucks for you because i saw one at best buy for 199.99 after rebates. anyway, i could kick myself because i just spent that much on a 4x burner. but the8x wasnt out yet. this tech crap is making me mad. half my stuff is no longer top of the line.

I've had the drive for about 5 days now. Its pretty sweet. I did have a major problem getting the software to work. I eventually ended up reformating my hard drive. Problem was driver conflicts between nero nd roxio.
