High Resolution HP Business Laptops (Good Deals in Europe)

After doing a little research, these seem to be the best deals for high resolution laptops (SXGA+ or higher) in Finland, and probably other Europe, too (prices in Finland):

Regular aspect ratio screen
NC6000 DJ258A 14" SXGA+ PM745/ATI9600 64 MB/1x512 DDR333/60 5400 rpm/CMB/WL+BT/XPP/3y € 1 937,05
NW8000 DU425EA 15" SXGA+ PM745/ATI FireGLT2 128 MB/1x512 DDR333/60 7200 rpm/CMB/WL+BT/XPP/3y € 1 999,31
NW8000 DU322A 15" UXGA PM755/ATI FireGLT2 128 MB/1x1024 DDR333/60 7200rpm/DVD+RW/WL+BT/XPP/3y € 2 443,61

Wide screen
HP NX8220 PG803ET 15.4" WSXGA+ PM750/ATI X600 64 MB/1x512 DDR2-400/60 5400rpm/DVD+-RW/WL+BT/XPP/1y € 1 678,94
HP NC8230 PV406AW 15.4" WSXGA+ PM750/ATI X600 64 MB/1x512 DDR2-400/60 5400 rpm/CMB/WL+BT/XPP/3y € 2017,23

Note: NX8220 (PG803ET) and HP NC8230 (PV406AW) use DDR2-400 instead of DDR2-533. Of course, the speed of the RAM depends also on its latencies.

It seems that NC6000 (DJ258A) is still the king of battery life and NW8000 (DU425EA) the king of performance&quality/price. I'm eagerly waiting for NW8240 to show up, to see if it will beat NW8000.

First nc8230 available and added. Seems to be a bit expensive compared to the older models.

HP nx8220 is now on the list, although it is not available yet but will be in a week.

nx8220

I have got the nx8220 now for 2 weeks and this notebook is great.
Good screen, it is bright, not as bright as a sony vaio glossy screen but brighter then average. Battery life is ok! 4+ hours browsing and programming in visual studio.

The keyboard is somewhat small, could be bigger, I keep hitting the caps lock all the time. Performance is ok! yes it is 400 mhz DDR2 memory but the difference with 533mhz will not be that great (I will upgrade to 2x1024 533mhz when its affordable.)

Overall a great notebook I can recommend.

Rick
