Operating System not found

Greetings all, I just happened to have a problem where I boot up, it gets past the memory count, passes System Ram and Cache SRAM. It also passes the System BIOS shadowed, Video BIOS shadowd, the two ATAPI CD-ROMs and initializes the mouse.

Then I get this error:
ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard
Bus:0A, Device:02, Function:00
ERROR
Warning: IRQ not configured - PCI Network Controller on Motherboard
Bus:0A, Device:05, Function:00

Press F1 to resume, F2 to Setup.

If I resume, it reports Operating system not found.

I go into the BIOS to see if I can change the IRQ or disable the device (I'm assuming it is the Wireless Network/Bluetooth combo card) but I cannot. I do the short cut and I see the light dissapear on the laptop, but it still has the same error.

It makes me wonder if the HD controller went bad, I have two 60 gig HD's in a regular ATA format. I've been trying to call Sager support (I bought from discountlaptops.com before I knew of this one hehe) but they want to call me back and leave a message, which I will after posting this.

I'm just curious if any of you encountered this or have any other ideas to try. If any other details are needed let me know. Thanks

I had a similar problem. Although, I don't know if it specifically was the same problem as you. For me, it was a faulty video controller. It caused conflicts with my harddrive, and I recieved that message.

My thread old old thread is here on this problem: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=50686

There's numerous things that could be wrong. It's hard to tell would it could specifically be, so it's probably best to work with Sager on that one. You can try some things suggested in that thread to see if it helps, dunno if it will though.

Thanks for the reply. Sager called me back after about 1 hour and had me remove the battery, unplug the power cable, and hold in the power button for 10 seconds. This provided some success in that the HD's were detected. Unfortunately I still had the error. He then suggested I leave it unplugged and battery out for at least 5 - 10 min, preferably 1 hour though. I did this, then tried again, and it booted. Problem is when I went to login I hard locked. I had to shut it off then boot it back up, and was back to the original problem.

I'm trying to leave it off for an hour again, to see what happens. The explanation or cause for this, the tech told me, is that a small power surge could have hit the laptop, and screwed up the wireless card. He did tell me if it that didn't work, that I would probably have to send it in for repairs. That kinda stinks in that I've had it for about 3 months now and got it just the way I like it. I might though, take this opportunity to upgrade the GPU if it comes down to sending it back.

I read through your thread (I could of sworn I searched Operating system not found) and saw how you were getting the error message. It seems to appear when the hard drives are not detected. I'm going to leave it unplugged overnight to see what happens. I'll let you know in the morning what happens. I do still have this computer to use, but alas, it's not my Sager

**UPDATE**

After checking this morning (8 hours later) with the laptop unpluged all night and the battery removed, it still produces the error. I'll have to have Sager call me back and go from there, but it seems that there is no fix we can do for it once it starts having this error. I don't know how long I'm going to be without a laptop now, but that's computers for you
