I am considering purchasing a inspiron 6000 in about a month or so. Right now i can get 512 RAM, 1.6 Ghz, 40 GB HDD for $1050. Do you guys predict the prices will dip in a month or what?

thanks

Did you try to use one of the coupons?

Ok, to actually help him. The price may go down, IF there is some new technology announced. Otherwise it will probably hover around the current price. Since Dell is trying once again to have record sales years, the big coupons should stay around, but there's no telling.

thanks n00b.

hmm...I want a Ferrari, I wonder if in a month they will be cheaper.

Think they will be cheaper in a month?

hmm....

And yes, a coupon is your best bet.

I just odered a 9300 with a 30% off coupon code...will there be a different/better discount tomorrow?
You got 21 days to try the 9300, if it turns out there is a coupon with a noticeable difference, you can return it and order the computer with the better coupon.

why is it useful? to see if i should get it now or later. sorry for being mr. captain obvious lol

I doubt that it would drop too much lower until later this summer or just before Christmas. I mean, how much more of a discount can you expect? They are already offering 35% off and $800 off coupons!
yea i dont think it could get much better than a 35% off coupon with a laptop that was barely released (9300) i bet the prices float around the same. if theres another 35% off i would jump on it.
I totally agree. I have never seen any coupon get higher than the 35% mark, which I think is a really good deal. You can't get a brand new laptop at a cheaper discount than that and I don't think Dell can afford to do that as well.

I'm also guessing that you might be able to purchase the Inspirons about a couple of hundred dollars off before after summer and before christmas.

Hmm, comparing Dell with a Ferrari. That's just dumb!!

I hope prices come down because without coupons, there laptops seem to be a lot more expensive than a comporable HP, Compaq, Gateway, Acer, or Toshiba from what I can tell.

Bad advice is worse than no advice. Dell has released 50% off coupons and there are many of us in this forum who got a $1,500 laptop for $750, I being one of them. And we found these deals right here, in this forum.

But the problem here is you just never know when exactly. Usually in the past these coupons have been released at the end of the quarter to boost sales and meet their quota. In order to get in on one of these rare moments, you need alot of patience and have the money at hand. When this happens Dells site gets hammered hard and often the deals are pulled 3 hours after initial release, so you need to be quick.

So the key elements are, visit this forum often and daily, have the cash ready and be prepared for a long wait (short for plenty of patience and persistance).

its just posted in the dell coupon thread right

Someone informed us about a day and a half before that the coupon was to be released here. And yes it was posted in the coupon thread but there was a thread alone that spanned about 20 pages, mostly people who missed out lol.

It was an exciting day, I took off work early to get in there and it's a good thing I did as 3 hours later they only offered a couple models @ 50% off then zilch coupon was pulled.
