How to turn a power on sound off?

Hi,
Just wonder How I turn this sound off? I dare not to turn on my Powerbook in the class when I`m late.

I thought you could hold F3/Mute when booting up... haven't done it in a while... Should work though.

or you could get in the habit of muting it before shutdown.
