it wasn't on the list because I thought I couldn't find it in Toronto (checked the computer stores websites, and none of them had it listed)...but I found one today and bought it!

One question though for the LapCool2 owners out there: Is it suppose to be completely silent when the fan is running at the lowest rpm? I find that it makes a little vibration noise at the lowest rpm. Its like a purring noise...

mine makes a sound at any fan rpm

one more thing, is the power adapter ment to power the fan or is it for used to power the USB hub? i unplugged it to figure it out but both still work without power...

you don't need the power cord. it can be powered though USB alone.and it will power both, the fan AND the USB Hub.

so then what the power cord for?

To give you the option to power it from the laptop or power outlet. Some machines have problems when powering too many external devices.

That was my invention! :-P

Having a desktop case that had the mobo and stuff in a minifridge and you could store your beer or whatever in it.

Yeah, you bought one of these? If you're right, then maybe I'm off to ebay to buy a cheap one. Which one did you get? You got a link or a picture?

i got a vantec lapcool2 last year when I bought my notebook. It works great. I already tested that Antec and I prefer the Vantec.

@naro - depends. I like them because my notebook is not an example to be followed on cooling solutions, and since I don't need mobility, a cooler doesn't bother me. Also, I live in a very, very hot place (probably you have no idea ); heat is the electrical systems N.o 1 enemy; and I like the fact that I wasted $30 to - really - protect a $1800 equipment .

vantec is the cooler of choice for me.
