Guess what... Graphics messing up again. :(

I've tried everything, even did an RMA on the laptop in which they swapped for a newly tested motherboard, and whadda ya know?... Problem still here. So far I feel I wasted $2,500.00 as of this moment.

a) Can't play games very long as the graphics go haywire with color blotches all over the place, and I figure now it's NOT the heat because I underclocked the system to 1.5ghz and ran it that way with stable 1.5ghz to maintain the system at one point. I'll have temps as low as the 45^c - 53^c and STILL get the graphics gone crazy episode 2 problems...

b) The wireless randomly just cuts off for no apparent reason and I can NOT relog on or use the wireless card until I completely reboot the entire system.

c) Constant lockups & Black Screens. I can't set something to download or burn then leave for the entire day then come back without having to worry about coming to a black screen. At this rate, the computer is to me worth slightly more (hypothetically speaking) that a failed to burn CD. Also known as being a Coaster... Except this coaster I can put a whole plate on...

At the moment... all I can say is....

Yeah this SAGER was GREAT QUALITY!!!
Hey all of you employees there who claimed my problem was fixed, thanks for nothing. I have something for you to kiss....
And they say SAGER is Better than DELL???
Don't take this to offense anyone... I'm just a little

what firmware are u at? As is mentioned on the boards, the 1.04 firmware that Eurocom has for the unit seemed to solve the strange graphics glitches for many people, including me.

Mine came with

BIOS D470K - 1.04 / Phoenix 4.06CJ15 10/16/2004

It doesn't say Eurocom D470K though, so are there more than 1 release for it?

it won't specify eurocom. All the firmware versions will mention clevo as that is who actually manufactures the notebook.

Hmm, so its not a firmware issue.

Unsure about your wireless as my eurocom came with a MSI card so we have different hardware and drivers there.

check your winxp system event log and see if anything pops out.

Other than installing the via hyperion 4.55 or 4.45 and using mobilmod to hack a set of 5.x catalysts, I'm not sure what else the problem could be.

go to ubcd.sourceforge.net, download and burn an iso on a cd and run some memory tests, hard drive tests and also a good stint of burn-in and cpu tests. See if you get any errors out of anything and then confirm it a few times. If so, then you have some 'proof' to throw back at sager and will have an easier time demanding things from them.

let us know how it goes.

ramazz... is the MSI Card working good for you? Because they told me when I talked to them yesterday that they will send me the MSI adapter to replace it.

Its alright. make sure you go to the MSI website to get the latest driver though

Do you think I should go ahead and swap out the intel one for it? Or would it be better to just work with the one I got?

I mean, what kind of problems do you run into? I mainly just need a stable connection that doesn't cause black screens or lockup.

i get no lockups or anything with it. I just think it COULD have a better connection. its not horrible or anything. I think its more the design on WHERE the card is an where the internal antenna is than anything else, or maybe I'm just being picky. had quite a few wireless devices go through here and this one has actually worked fairly well. 802.11g unit is in my basement on back of house and I get a very weak signal on deck in front of house. a few other laptops I'v worked with wouldn't get a signal at all out there so not bad considering... i guess, though those ones i only had a 802.11b ap in the basement.

the msi uses a broadcom chip so it performs well enough with a good signal. no dropouts for no reason or anything like that. no bsod's or wierd things. I logon to a netware server with it and burn iso's to disk over the wireless connection without problems as long as the signal quality stays in the 'very good' range. link goes from 36-54 alot lately, but I may have to switch channels as my neighbors have started putting up wireless themselves as i can see them (and log on to their networks of course since they are all clueless)

It MAY fix your wireless issues and it may not. make sure you properly clean the old intel wireless nic drivers off first before you install the msi.

well I replaced my old one with the MSI card, but it doesn't connect. I have everything setup, but it doesn't even pick up the signal where I use it from, so I'm guessing I might end up going back to the other card. Not sure yet.
