MSI510C Touchpad not working

I think I may have done something bone-headed but I can't for the life of me get the touch pad (and buttons) to work again.

Does anyone know what the MSI Searchkey util does, could this be related in any way?

The 510c (1003 if you're looking it up on MSIcomputer.com) comes with a bunch of utilities, including Searchkey and Liveupdate.

Searchkey shouldn't have any effect on your touchpad. I'm sure you've already tried reinstalling the drivers - have you tried running LiveUpdate and download the latest touchpad drivers from there?

I downloaded the drivers, but when I try and install them they just seem to crash

Are there any other you know of that may work with the m510c? (using XP SP2).

I had this problem, too, among others. I got it fixed by sending it back to MSI...twice (they didn't fix anything the first time). Good luck!
