Just checked my tracking information my new laptop was delivered at 9.40am and I am stuck at work!!

I wonder what the chances are of a delivery later on, or suppose gotta wait till tomorrow and make sure I am at home!

I was told they phone to arrange delivery lol!!

Glad to see everyone from from the UK is getting theirs slowly

When was yours shipped? Also on the evening of the 11th? Dell site gives me an ETA of today, but Walsh Western insists it will be delivered tomorrow, even though the order has left the Conventry hub yesterday evening at 8. The notebook went all the way from the factory to the ferry during the night before, yet I didn't get ANY status scan on my order today yet...

Mine was shipped yesterday at around 3am via UPS, strange why everyone else's is getting shipped via Walsh Western.

In my case the computer was shipped from Dell Ireland on a monday and not with me until the following thursday, so the delivery companies sometimes take their time. Though I didn't mind, I wouldn't have had the time to unpack it until that weekend anyway, just having it standing around in its box for a week wouldn't have made me any happier

UPS - that explains a lot. Mine also didn't seem to go through the Netherlands, but then again, I still don't see any update yet so who knows where it went to

But I still bank on tomorrow - that's what Walsh Western told me and I think that's a fairly good estimate. I think they switch carriers just like they do in the US - and that Walsh Western business is a bit strange, never heard of them before. UPS probably can get the laptop to the UK within one day where Walsh Western needs two. Oh well, anything's better than June, 9th.

FWIW, I think Walsh Western delivered at least one of my 2 previous Dell laptops and I think they're regularly used by the big D. Actually, I seem to remember the driver compaining about his van, something about it being hard to see through such a sparkly screen...

My system is slated for delivery tomorrow as well - I guess they do them in batches. Did any of you experience the reverse-time effect too? Dell appeared to do everything on 1st April (although the 1st April lasted like 11 days) and Walsh Western's order trscking page was confidently telling me that the ferry had docked today at 14:00 even though I ws checking at 09:00...

Maybe prolonged exposure to the magnetic componetry in so many PCs distorts time somehow!

Yeah, that ferry arrival popped up for me as soon as it left Dublin - they anticipated the arrival. I saw a tracking list of someone else in a different forum, and he had a totally different order of things, and actually his shipment left again before the ferry finally pulled in (or actually the projected arrival was reached).
Maybe we can compare notes: Where's yours at at the moment? I find it quite worrying to see that NOTHING has happened to my laptop the whole day:

12/04/05 20:28 COVENTRY ORDER COMPLETE IN HUB.

So basically your order needs one day less, because mine is just idling around today. That's what I suspected, but they said "nooooo, it'll move around the UK today"... Walsh Western are just as bad as dell - but then again, maybe customers shouldn't have the kind of control over the process as they do. I keep checking their page every five minutes, and of course I find something to worry about. Back in the old days I just kept waiting for deliveries for ages, god knows what they did with them in all the time it took - and I never worried, because I didn't know

Im going to take a day or two off!
Damn: Why does yours take one hour, 17 minutes from Raheen to "Order complete in Coventry hub", yet mine takes from 8:32 to 20:28? What use is tracking if it doesn't track?
I think "order complete in hub" means that they grabbed the rucksack and spare battery out of the Coventry hub. And fwiw, I was ahead of you (by 5 whole minutes ) a couple of days ago based on our update times and then a whole bunch of systems shipped but not mine...

I guess I *just* made it into this delivery batch!

WTF - NOT RECEIVED? INCOMPLETE IN DEPOT? AT 8 AM IN THE MORNING? PLEASE TELL ME THAT THAT'S JUST MY BACKPACK GOING OFF TO BANGLADESH!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - Called Walsh Western, was put on hold, power outage during my phone call, had to leave work, got home, still "not complete", tried calling again, office closed.

HOW MUCH BAD LUCK CAN YOU HAVE WITH ONE ORDER? And what kind of shipping service is it with an office that closes at 5:30 pm?!
Dude, sympathies! Just keep chanting "10% off... 10% off..." to yourself.

Alternatively; get blind drunk, steal a milkfloat and lurch drunkenly 'round Poole assaulting parcel delivery drivers!

It *would* pass the time...
