The ASUS M6 series are highly regarded. What is it you want to know, exactly? I had an M6 -- then it got stolen -- and I'm so impressed with it that, despite the splash caused by the V6 and Z71 series, I'm still considering getting another M6, despite it costing practically the same exact price after eight months!!

M6R has the ATi IGP (integrated graphics processor.. or somesuch)

Is the 15inch screen important to you?

if not, then the size of the M6 chassis is not worth it imo.

Just what you thought of the performance, features, warranty and anything else you thought was cool?

Hi all,
I am thinking of getting the M6R ( http://www.cworld.com.au/info.php?ID=116847 ) also.

Some people didn't like the ATI Mobility Radeon 9100 IGP (Integrated Graphics Technology), so I am not sure if it meets my needs.

I mainly want to use it for editing Digital photos, will I be in running into problem?
I will be having 1Gig of RAM (instead of the default 256meg+256meg).

Thanks.

You should be fine... editing photos is more of a CPU intensive and memory dependent task..so you should be absolutely fine.

Hi, Just got my M6R and have exeprienced some problem. Not sure where the problem may be, the symptoms are:
1. Take forever to login (like 3-4mins)
2. Tend to freeze quite often (like non responsive for 2-3min with the hour glass) then everything is running normal again. It seems like it was waiting for something or some cycle to come back before continuing on whatever it was asked to do.
3. #2 Tend to happen more when I click on Start -> Programs (nevigating through these menus )

I am not sure where the problem is.. it is on XP (come with the machine).
Any idea?

If you can, reinstall Windows... if that doesn't work, then it's probably a driver issue.

I think I may have the problem. The notebook come with Symatic Norton Internet Security and I install McAfee VirusScan on top and that appear to be the cause (although I have no proof). Now that I have un-installed ViruScan and the problem appears to have gone away. I will keep on monitor this and do a few more test. Thanks for your suggestion Auroras.

Update: 04/05/2005
I have tried the reserve my removing Norton and installed McAfee and that also works. So the conclusion is that we should only have one single Virus Scan product on a machine at a time - silly me *LOL*.
