...

Same thing... just called Dell... I love how the customer service rep is so obviously Indian but has to call herself Samantha. Great stuff.

Me: What is your name?
Her: Samantha
Me: Excuse me?
Her: Samantha
Me: Is that really your name?
Her: Yes sir... Thank you for calling Dell Customer Service. Good bye.

(clik)

Anyways, I got my shipping upgraded to overnight... I don't really care about the $45. She said that there were parts in back order. Great... this is going to take a while I'm guessing.

I was told there were parts in backorder last week. I was told last night that their was some sort of quality control that failed in the boxing stage thats why my system got bumped back to testing then back to building.
Forklift theory might not be far off lol.

Heh ya i think i spoke with Samantha too. I had to repeat myself four times and i still dont think she understood me.

I asked if the person responsible for putting my system in a box accidently dropped it. I told her i ask this because my status has been in the "boxing" stage since saturday and this morning I get notice that it will be delayed one week. I explained to her that from what Dells website states this stage is simply putting the computer in a box and taping it up. I also explained it seemed funny it took them 5 days to build my system but 12 days to put it in a box and tape it up.

Maybe someones trying to tell me i should cancel my order and head to the apple store.

Nah, nobody dropped it. They ran the Dell jet carrying it to the US into the airport control tower during takeoff. Besides, Dell has a 5 second rule at their plant when it comes to dropping stuff.

I ordered on 4/4, went into boxing Sun night/Mon morning...it's still there. Haven't received one of those dreaded emails, but now you've got me worried. Ugh.

5 second rule hahaha nice one.

hmm.. control <t> ... www.apple.com ... click store ... click powerbook ... holy crap $2,699.00 for the 17-inch .... if only Steve Jobs would honor my Dell 35% off coupon..

I ordered my Inspiron 9300 on 3/31, and I got an e-mail today as well saying that my ship date has been pushed back to the 20th . I chatted with a Dell rep, and they said that my wireless card (Intel 2915 802.11 a/b/g) was on backorder and won't be available in stock for another 1-2 business days. For all this waiting, I should try to get some money back as well .

I have gotten a total of a $90 refund on my system. I was just going to order the lesser wireless card. I figured hey $25 and I can connect to any wireless network. Yea screwed me in the end lol

I would think for something like a user installable card they could have shipped the laptop then sent the card seperatly when it arrived off backorder. Would have saved people a lot of heartache.
At least someone got a straight answer.

Now the question is can we get the card cancelled and just get a Wireless 2200.

Yeah that would make a lot more sense. Does Dell let you modify orders so late in the process? Too bad cause I would of had my system tomorrow.
