Here are 19 different OEM/ODMs in two different polls, it should include most major manufacturer.

You may also vote for more than one, if both the chassis manufacturer and equipment manufacturer/reseller are both on the list:
E.G. if you have a Sager that has a Clevo chassis,
or if you have a Gateway with Arima chassis,
or Sony with ASUS chassis.
etc.

Well, Dell finally passed ASUS. But Still pretty impressive, considering ASUS doesn't even have its own forum.

Hence all the Asus owners frequent Notebook General, where your poll is located. The people who own brands with their own forum won't be here as often as those who do not. Not knocking your poll, but it makes sense that it's not totally representative for that reason.

Havn't thought of it that way.

If you look at the current count:
ASUS has 14 votes; which of all of the brands that lack their fora, ASUS has by far the most votes, the next closest retailer is Fujitsu at 4. That is 350% of its closest competitor.

Is everyone thinking of what I am thinking?

Before you get carried away (even though I agree with you ), remember that Asus is presently updating their entire Centrino product line to Sonoma, so they have a lot of new products coming out in a relatively short period of time, and people who recently bought a computer are more likely to spend time here.

Looks like ASUS and Dell are tied again for first place.

If we don't do something soon, all the new A71V and A8000Z owners will overrun this forum.
