New Realtek audio drivers 3.71

Changelog:

A3.71 -
1. For special customize settings.
2. Fix HCT 12.1 DRM test fail issue.
3. Fix playback and record could not been played in the same time issue for ATI and nVidia chipsets.

Im confused, I have a 9860 and for the sound I've been installing these drivers:

Realtek r118 Drivers (KB888111) which came out on 03/26/2005


So what are these drivers exactly, and is there a possibility they will help the terrible sound Im getting out of my computer?

Thanks for the link Warden!!! It should be pointed out the first version listed is for x64. Woot! Make sure you download the correct version for 32bit XP. I snagged both because I'm playing with x64 on another partition.

Anyone downloading this new driver have problems with modem compatibility? The last time I updated realtek audio, my laptop went crazy and I had to reformat

I am confused too. Are these drivers for the 9860? I have been installing the ones located here:

HD Audio Drivers

WHich, conincidentally, were updated on 5/13/2005.

Am i installing the wrong drivers for my 9860?

These are the wrong drivers for you. These are the ac97 drivers, you are looking for updated HD drivers from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20CODECs which would be at version 1.20 at the moment
