BestCase for Dell 700m yet reasonably light and small

Thread Starter
Hello,
I am looking for a case for my Dell 700m that i've ordered today.
I am looking for a case that will provide moderate protection with substantial lightness.

I am looking for a case that will provide good protection for my 700m, but will also allow me to take full advantage of buying a thin and light laptop.

I dont want to be carrying a 4-5pound case with a 4 pound notebook.

thanks

Thanks Jeri!! I just canceled my order with Shinza. I had ordered with them directly on March 30th, and on their most recent email they told me it wouldn't be shipped until April 25th. Yeah right! I will order from EBay.
Btw, have you gotten yours yet? If yes, how is it?

Nope I just bought mine yesterday and it was shipped out today

Anybody read the product description for this? Read it real close? Can someone decipher it for me? That's hilarious.

looks like a really tight fit, does the zipper even close with the extended battery?

i got the MEC kilobyte bag for my 700m (www.mec.ca) . It was pretty cheap, and its a pretty nice little bag. nice foam protection. its not much bigger than the 700m.

It has a cool sling strap that tucks away if you dont want to use it, which is one of my favorite parts about it.

How about the new version?

"New! This model has been enhanced to provide even better protection against impact shock. The new wire-frame exoskeleton and strengthened materials come at the price of elasticity, which means that unlike its predecessor, this model does not stretch to fit notebooks that are larger than the case's interior dimensions. To ensure proper sizing, please be sure to measure your notebook and compare to the interior dimensions listed in the Technical Specifications section below. "

Has anyone thought about the Booq Vyper?

I want it, but the 12'' version seems too small and the 14/15'' is too big...I love the styling of it though

Damm!
Somehow i got mixed up at EBay and ordered the one for the 15 inches. Well, the seller had it listed as model number and not like, this is for the 12 inches or 15 inches. Actually he had for both.
The 15 inches has some extra space, so makes no sense buying a small notebook and walk around with a bigger case.

I will sell at EBay!! Arghh!

Post the pix when you get it!! Well, after you leave overnight to do the streching!!
Thanks!!

Well you shouldn't sell it yet, sell it after I post pics, it still may or may not fit.

This is the case I have..
http://www.ebags.com/sumdex/compact_...?modelid=42698

It fits PERFECTLY and it is very inexpensive. Havn't used it long enough to determine the actual quality of the material and design.

If you are minimalist and want the smallest bag possible with minimal padding and professional look, then this is the bag to get.

Padding is very minimal like i mentioned, so don't expect this bag to 'protect' your laptop. Because its so small and thin, it can be used as a sleeve. I am able to put it into my backpack and use it like a sleeve for more protection.

I don't mean to step on your toes, but how does that work as a sleeve? It looks like a real carry-on bag to me. Maybe a small carry-on bag =)

compare the dimensions of that bag with dimensions of a typical sleeve. you will be surprised.

I currently use the bag without the shoulder strap. The top handles fold down and are very thin. Works just like a sleeve. I put my laptop into this small brief, and put the brief into my backpack to protect it from my books etc.
