Trinispeed, glad to hear that the bag is working out for you. Good choice.

Just letting you guys know, the 700m doesn't fit into the Booq vyper 12" sleeve. I've just learnt the hard way, now I'm trying to get it exchanged for a bigger sleeve. The Skooba is like $105 AUD here, and I've only found one place that sells it here. I might see how I go with a 14" bag or something.

I noticed you guys say that the AC adapter fits in the front velcro slot of the Skooba bag. Does it bulge out a lot? I find that a bit unsightly.

What an awsome bag! It fits the Dell 700m like a glove (not a tight glove). It was made for the extended 8cell battery. I think if you didnt have the 8cell there would be alot of room for the laptop to move around (about an inch or so). The padding is amazing! Really soft and calming, knowing that my laptop is in a soft case. It comes with a shoulder strap, very nice especially with the soft air packets on the strap too.

There is a velcro closure on the front side, perfect for putting the charger, and thats about it. This little case is made only for the laptop and the charger. You can fit other things in it, plane tickers or just slim items.

Very nice sturdy design with a good look to it. Not to crazy and not to plain. I will be placing it in my backpack and taking it to school rather than carrying it around on my shoulder.
I would give this bag an initial 9.5/10, i will see its true use in the comming days.

Awsome bag! Im happy with it! Have any questions let me know!

check out the pic above, thanks to seikoguy!

how well does it fit in your backpack? does it take up alot of room? its either the skooba bag or this one http://www.goincase.com/prod_laptop/...leeveNylon.php

dimensions are almost the same :
skooba : 10.5" x 12.5" x 2.25"
incase: 11 x 13 x 1.75

im just worried that the skooba would take up too much space in my backpack

For what its worth some girl is selling 700m sleeves on ebay for under $10.. I carry around a laptop bag already and just wanted something to keep it from scratching when I throw my other laptop in there (a ThinkPad T42 from work.. I don't care if that gets scratched - didn't really need padding and protection that some of the other sleeves out there offer.

Anyway, this seems like she bought both leatherette and suede fabrics, cut it down to size and made it a good fit for the 700m.. the stiching is excellent and strong - it seals with a velco flap.

Because of the price I ended up buying both to try 'em out and I like them. I prefer the leatherette because its seems 'stiffer', but they are both great and exactly what I was looking for. I'm using the smaller batter and theres a little room in there - the larger battery would definately fit like a glove.

I'm not affiliated with her in any way so I won't post the link (Don't want it to be considered spam).. just search ebay for 700m sleeve and you'll see the ad.

If you already carry some sort of laptop bag and JUST want protection from the other things in the bag, this'll work nicely - if you want padding and protection from a fall - it won't do anything for ya...

I really like my Skooba Sleeve, it fits the 700m w/8-cell battery comfortably but not snugly or tightly. However I haven't really found a way to stuff the charger into the front pocket without stretching the outside pocket unduly, and I don't want to mess up my new case. It's really a great little sleeve for my lappy, I just wish I could carry the charger comfortably. Right now I've got a spare Ethernet cable and a USB thumb drive in the front pocket and honestly that's about as thick as items can get without really stretching it a lot and looking like it's going to hurt my case...

Thanks, you answered my question perfectly.

Samsonite L25

Has anyone bought the samsonite L25 for their 700M? Its dimensions seems like it will fit with extended battery...Im in between this and the skooba bag. If you have pictures with the extended battery for the L25 it would help. Thanks

I can't find this appropriately addressed elsewhere: Will the skooba fit inside a backpack nicely to use as a sleeve?
Just in case anyone cares, I picked up a Shinza 12" sleeve for my 700m and it fits perfectly with the 8-cell.

I hope this helps because I know there has been some confusion about this..

I have one of those regular sized backpacks (not designed for laptops or anything like that) with 2 zippers one for the main compartment and one for the smaller pencil bag. I would carry a heavy textbook and a couple of notebooks and my skooba bag inside the backpack without any problems. It didn't even bulk up the bag where you end up looking like a nerd.

Thanks, both to CMDDS and ttechdoc. These are the two sleeves I'm considering, but I think I'll go with the skooba because it can be used as a stand-alone bag and hold a few accesories.

I ordered the skooba today. It seems it fits the 700M the best including the a/c adaptor. $39 off of ebags.com plus a $10 off coupon = $29. I can't wait.
where'd you get the $10 off coupon?
Yes, I'd like to know as well.

both the shinza 12" and my 700m arrived today. they are a perfect match, even with the extended battery.

i must say...the shinza's shock absorbency is very impressive. i spent half an hour pounching it today. the memory foam is freaking amazing. it instantly molds to my grip! 40$ well spent indeed =)
