Well if I read correctly the Inspiron backpack wasn't shock-tested or anything. I don't know if the others are, but their satchel bag or whatever you call it is.

ive tried targus xl and matrix. it fits in both but is pretty tight for the matrix. It is also in my opinion a little loose when in the xl but i decided on the xl because i carry a lot of books and stuff to school and i want to fit that stuff in their as well, which you can't really do with the matrix. Those are the only ones ive tried on that list

targus matix is only for 15.4 and down. I have the Targus XL. It's pretty good. Not enough special pockets, though. That Kensington Contour looks pretty cool. Looks sturdy. I like the looks of that Deluxe Backpack for Select Dell Inspiron Notebooks, too. Though I'd like to see more of the pocket arrangement.

Nice post.

search the forums for "high sierra holmes" because I saw a post from someone who had ordered this backpack and said it did NOT fit (the 9300)

I'm using the Targus XL as well and I love it to death. Has plenty of room. It might not have a lot of special pockets, but all of my school books and paper and I9300 Fit fine!

I'm using the backpack that you can just buy with with Inspiron 9300, which seems to be none of the backpacks you've listed. I like it just fine, other than the fact that it says "Dell" everywhere.

Plenty of pockets for all my junk, can't imagine running out of space with stuff I'd actually want to carry around. Even carted two laptops in it briefly while migrating all my apps + data.

For $39 - discount, I think it's a great bargain.

"Deluxe Backpack for Select Dell Inspiron Notebooks" looks nice too.

But whats is the difference from "Mobile Edge Backpack for Dell Inspiron 9100 and XPS Notebooks"? aside from the price.

WHY DO PEOPLE BUY RUCKSACKS WITH "DELL" PLASTERED EVERYWHERE?

I know two people who have had their Laptops stollen this year and one was a Dell 9100 in a backpack with Dell plastered all over it, this was taken in a Train while my friend went to the toilet, and another was I think a compaq in a HP bag, or maybe the other way round, and this was stollen in a bar, right from under his barstool. Two years ago I left my Dell 8,000 inspiron in a shop next to the counter to one side for over 2 hours in a regular old rucksack. When I tore back into the shop in a total panic, not even the girls had noticed it there for all that time. Then the manager said something about it being a security risk, unattended etc etc.
No way am I buying a rucksack or bag with even Targus on it, or any name, even remotely assosiated with laptops.

That was me. I bought the High Sierra Holmes, received it, it didn't even look like it could fit a 15 inch laptop, and sent it back. Good build but it is no where near the right size for a 17 inch backpack. Speaking of which, I need to check the status of that return.

I'm using the Targus XL617 backpack now and it's perfect! Fits my system and all my textbooks and other junk.
