Hi,
This is my first post here, and I'm looking to buy a new laptop, but I'm trying to find the best value that will give me adequate peroformance for gaming. Here in Sweden I have found the following four laptops at the specified price:

Acer TM 8104WLMi
(2 GHz, 1 GB DDR2 533MHz, 100GB 5400rpm,15.4"WSXGA, X700 128Mb)
Price: 2150 USD

Dell Inspiron 9300
(1.86 GHz, 1 GB DDR2 533MHz, 80GB 5400rpm,17"WUXGA, Geforce Go 6600 256Mb)
Price: 2 280 USD

Dell XPS Gen2:
(2 GHz, 1 GB DDR2 533MHz, 60GB 7200rpm,17"WUXGA, Geforce Go 6800Ultra 256Mb)
Price: 2 770 USD

Zepto 6515WD (Clevo machine)
(1.86 GHz, 1 GB DDR 400MHz, 100GB 5400rpm,15.4"WXGA, Geforce Go 6600 128Mb)
Price: 1900 USD

Which one would you choose?

Thanks

Best performance would be the Dell XPS. Best value would be the Dell 9300. I've not studied the Acer, but if you check the Acer forum here I believe there have been a few issues with the 8104. This may have been fixed.

For me, it would depend on the level of service you can expect in Sweden if something goes wrong.

Acer have a worldwide warranty and here in Australia I was able to have an Acer tablet fixed on the spot even though I bought it in the USA. But I live close to the service center.

I don't know the warranty situation with Dell for Sweden. If you are covered, then they tend to do the right thing even though their customer service is the worst I've experienced (in the US). From memory you can't buy an XPS in Europe, and if you buy one from the States you will need to buy the three year service to be able to transfer the warranty overseas.

I imagine with the Clevo you will be in the hands of the retailer.

You might want to check out the Asus Z71 as well.

Cheers

Thanks.

In Sweden, I've heard that Acer support is very bad. From personal experience I know that Dell support is good. As for the Clevo, the retailer gives 2 years warranty.
