Dell must have ramped up for yesterday.

My I6000D,ordered at 8:00 AM, went all the way to boxing by 4:00 PM yesterday!

My 700m from yesterday morn is "In production". Guess I'll have to read that long a** thread and find out what that means.

I ordered one yesterday too (i6000) and got an intitial email saying I placed an order and that's it. It said since I have a new account, i would get another email in 24 hours but I haven't yet. Should I be worried?

Hrm, I don't know. Mine went as follows:
Order Acknowledgement - Received 4/13/2005 8:14 AM (Ordered at 8:05 AM)
"What’s next?
You will receive an order confirmation email within 1 day with your order number, customer number, estimated ship date and updated purchase amount."

Order Confirmation - Received 4/13/2005 8:39 AM

Looks like I got mine in 25 minutes. It does say up to 1 day though.

Yes, call them. I've ordered a few systems and got the confirmation within an hour or two. And that included the first order with a new account. I can *Imagine* they may have been a bit busy yesterday, but I would call pretty soon if I were you.

usually, i would estimate that it takes about 5 days from the "order date" to ship out..i've purchased 3 700m's in the past month and a half, and all of them took EXACTLY 5 days from the order date. Boxing usually takes about 3 days....

hope this info helps anyone curious about their forthcoming laptop...

The first order confirmation takes a while because the verify your credit and stuff. Future order confirmations will go through very quickly. Sometimes just minutes behind the first email.

I ordered a 6000d on the 11th, and it's currently in Boxing. Estimated ship date is the 19th and I have free 3-5 day.

For Dell models that have been for sale for a while, it is a good assumption that the computer will be delivered 7 to 8 days after your order date, provided that you didn't order a part that was not available and that your payment was approved promptly. The long estimated ship dates is just a safety mechanism that Dell uses incase they can't ship a computer to you really fast.

That was my experience exactly. Ordered my 700m this monday and received a tracking number today. Not bad, huh
