Just purchased an S360

Well, due to all your positive posts regarding the S360, I finally went out and purchased my own. I am thorough ly impressed with this notebook. I had been looking for something that was going to be more portable than my year old HP ze4650 so I was looking at the the S360, the T series, the JVC offerings, even the u series. But it seemed that most of you with S series experienced raved about the performance, build, and screen of the S series. Well, you're all right. It's awesome!

I hope I will be able to configure it to my likings. Like the old HP, it will be used in the office and for general use, but I am also an amateur electronic musician and use the computer for music composition. Form what I've read, the S360 should handle audio applications very well.

I am planning on getting another 512 ram.

Right now I'm in the process of creating the recovery discs. man it's taking long!

Anyways, thanks for all the reviews and advice about this notebok. Made choosing purchasing a lot easier.

Oh a few questions:

1. I read that it uses microdimm ram. Is that a sony proprietary thing or do other companies make micro dimm?

2. Doe the s360 come with two sticks of 256 or 1 512?

Thanks for any info!

The notebook comes with one 512MB stick (it has room for two). It's not a proprietary memory chip. This one will work.

Congratulations on your purchase!

Go to the recovery options in control panel and there is a wizard that guides you thru it. You will need 7 cdrs or one dvd, It took about an hour to burn them all.
