Brandon's Alienware 5550 Review - Page 2

post #21 of 36
awesome review. congrats to both of you on your new system.

as an aside, when you said about having a similar experience when you were a kid about opening a commodore-64 box, i had a flashback to my same experience (waay back to '80), so i totally related. also happened again this year when i got a AW7700, got those old time feelings again, and not afraid I guess my true colors are shining through. and true colors are beautiful like a rainbow.

Good, Matt hit his first home run as a high school player Wed, it went over a center field fence similar to left field at Fenway Park in Boston. The distance to the fence was 345' and the fence is 30' tall and it carried 40' past, so the guy tells me who retrieved the ball. Now Matt is slim like your son, but shorter by 4" so it was quite a feat. This game was against the local private "Pro" school. Pro meaning the tuition is $5600 a year and if you play baseball it's free.

Glad you made use of the water cooling project pics, people looking for detail like you is why I took the time to post them and all the others I've collected - thanks.

Glad we all at (Notebook Forums) can share the blame for a good experience.

You might want to get that SLI rig and load up one of the great (air or ground) WWII Combat Simulators that's out there as another reason to get another rig.

{Pssstt....hey buddy...over here...look...we're being "watched"...no I'm not paranoid...they seem to be...everywhere..}

To my great suprise, I was contacted this morning with regard to the "eyes" issue by Alienware Richard. He requested a time when a tech could call me and walk through the problem. The tech, can't remember his name but very cool, got the issue straightened out pronto and the eyes they are aglowin!

My wife asked me how they found out we had an issue...easy, I replied..."they" are watching. (Think about it, you deviants!)

Seriously, what great service! I've never seen anything quite like it. I got the problem resolved without contacting AW. Just...Wow. Thanks, AW.

Ew ya...those looka pretty nice. That's one bad thing about AW lappys...the glowing eyes are always facing where I can't see them.

...and yes definately check out Darkstar, if you haven't already...Brandons system will be even more menacing!

We'll pulled down Darkstar within minutes of configuration. I saw the link elsewhere on this board so we were on it! Very cool looking skins. You should have seen his face light up when he launched Window Media Player. The Darkstar skin for his was very sweet... This is a chassis that he's going to hang on to for a long time, I'm thinking.

You think buying your son a 5550 earns you Dad of the year award? No way. That is just being a marginal Dad. Dad of the year award goes to DarthBeavis for buying his 3 1/2 year old an Aurora ALX SLI.

I bought him three 5550s as playmates as well.

To truly be eligible for Father of the Year

Lets see some pics then of "Little Beav" clicking on the delete key with all the midget porn selected Next he will be pictured emptying the recycle bin

Darth needs credentials? Crisco and duct-tape are available without prescription and proscription as far as I know and that's more than enough for most of us!
