Adapter plug in...thing?

I hope someone here can help I just bought a used Sony vaio laptop model number PCGFRV37. I though everything was fine with it until I went to recharge the battery and found that the plug in the laptop was broken. The charger plugs into it but doesn't stay in very well. Does any one know where I can buy that piece? Would be hard to replace? I'm pretty handy!

if you JUST bought it, call sony and ask them for replacement, blame them!

I bought it from a personal seller not a store.

Send it to sony and have them fix it. It would probably be less of a hassle. It might just cost you a couple bucks.

Sony

The last place she wants to send it to is Sony.. Theyll give her a 600.00 estimate for board replacement. We can help you with the notebook and it requires removal of the jack from the board and resoldering a new one in its place.

I have a PCG-FRV37 on my workbench right now with the same problem. On that model of sony, the DC jack is NOT soldered onto the board but attaches to the system board with a cable. I just bought the part direct from sony for $38.40 plus shipping. www.laptopparts.com had the same part for $75.00. The part number you need is part number 1-827-606-11. PM me your fax number and I'll fax you the schematics showing the part and the number you need.

Here is a pic of the part.
