RMHOP81,

really bothering me, paid $1200 for something that's offset. just affraid if i take it in to ask them ta fix it, they'll be like are you serious?
I mean, it's a flaw isn't it? lid shouldn't be offset like that.

well when i had my ibook it didn't pose a problem @ all just didn't look right when it was closed. i doubt they will try to fix it, i would say if it doesn't pose a problem i would just leave it unless something happens later with it

here's how i figured out i wanted a small laptop. last summer i bought the toshiba p25 series with a 17inch screen bc it was just so awesome. but it was so huge it really wasn't a laptop bc i never took it anywhere. so i sold it and got the 700m which is a 12inch widescreen, then got my powerbook bc i was used to the 12inch. But i mean here's what i think, you can always get a bigger monitor and hook up the 12inch to when you're @ home so then when you are going places it isn't much to carry around, i hardly notice this in my backpack when i take it places.

Apple doesn't recognise this problem, so they won't repair it. You'll need to pay for it. Seems it's a frequent problem when I read the forums.

what do you mean by apple doesn't recognize this problem, you can obviously see the lid is not centered correctly. It'd be like buying a BMW, driving it home from the lot, closing the door an realizing that the door was offset. I mean this is a powerbook isn't it? suppose to be the best made notebook out there. I can't believe apple won't fix this for me under warrenty!

Nearly everyone you have asked on this forum has said the same thing, yet you post it many times...

If you still are in awe of Apple not fixing that, then call your nearest retailer and ask instead of getting an answer that could possibly be wrong. Your lid is offset marginally, it isn't like a hinge is broken or a major defect is viewed, so call and ask. If you get the answer that they won't fix it, then that is what will happen. Posting here crying with your opinion of it won't change what they will do.

I agree that $1500 for a "minor" defect is still too much money to blow it off, but I guess its "at cost", basically, it isn't like their low end and their high end cost the same to make...

some customers have to cry so that companies may step back and offer a better deal

he's not crying you *********, if he's spending $1500 on a laptop the shit better be perfect, i'm the same way. I've never seen so many assholes on forums. if you don't like what he says DON'T respond, it's very simple. I love how people act like hardasses but if it were their computer it would be a HUGE tragedy and you'd want to get it fixed as soon as possible. but since it's not your's you're a ******.

RMHOP81,

thanks for understanding man. I mean, if i were makin' like 60K a year, then buying this $1500 wouldn't have been that big of a deal even with a offset lid. But i make like nothing a year, still a student, had ta borrow money from my parents ta buy this "perfectly" build machine, and it's just annoying that it's got cosmetic flaws.

man, shut the hell up. I don't know how many times you've posted this, and on how many different forums, because i've seen you post thsi on at least one other website (and i don't hceck that many different ones, so there may be others that you've also posted on).

just call the freaking store and ask THEM instead of asking mostly people who are not in a position to elaborate on Apple's policy.

RMHOP81,

Yes, he is. He is spending $1500 on something that is worth what he paid for it. If they WILL NOT FIX IT, then he DOES NOT HAVE TO SPAM THIS IN EVERY THREAD. I am sick of reading that same post after every thread now, because he thinks the answer will change.

He spent $1500, and you get what you pay for. If you don't want to pay to have it fixed, and they won't fix it for free, then that is just too bad - read the fine print and move on.

I've had a $4,000 laptop before, and the screen cracked for an unknown reason. I sent it to the manufacturer, they wouldn't fix it. I didn't spam people hoping it would make the problem any better, and I was willing to pay to keep my investment.

And investment is not an investment without maintenance.

haha i'm a douche bc i'm nice, that's interesting. if you don't want to see what he's typing BLOCK him out. it's pretty easy. hahah and $4,000 for a laptop? that just seems silly. warranties are there for a reason, i don't think his problem is a big deal but i see what he's talking about bc my ibook had the same problem. i wouldn't take it in unless it posed a real problem, but just bc he's asking what you guys think doesn't mean you have to be a jerk about it. some people are just picky about stuff when they spend alot of money. go flame in another thread.

What the hell is your problem?

He has been given the same answer that Apple does not fix this, even from those with AppleCare on their computers!

I'd like to see you say this in person too, as you'd probably have to clear up your acne problem and hire someone to say it for you. "and then if u asked me to the dance, i wouldn't go, ya hear me?!" You are hiding behind a screen just as much as I am, it is the internet.

I am frustrated that he just posts this everywhere with the same answer, and won't accept that answer and has yet to say he has phoned Apple for a definitive answer.

And I own and have owned machines quite a bit more expensive then his, so go back to your little 386 and play Earthworm Jim.

i have no problem until assholes come in here and act all hard for no reason. who cares what computers you have or had and how you MAINTAIN your investment. people think differently and if you don't like what he's saying you don't have to respond...

I'm not starting sh!t like you are. you act all hard and hide behind your monitor. i don't have a problem until people spout off like they know everything.
