Ive been shopping around for something new and found this forum. Seems to be the best place online to
get some honest reviews. My current laptop is a Toshiba 5105 that I got an ext warranty for and put through
the wringer the last three years. I've read about their having the worst customer service/repairs in the
business. Fortunately I have one of their service providers just 15 mins away and all three times I've taken it
in, they've ordered the parts and I've had it back within a week. I think I'd much prefer that to mailing it across
the country. This Toshiba has really done me well.
anyways, looking to spend 2k including ~$200 ext warranty. Need a 100GB HD and I'm mostly online or gaming. Really
like the 17" TB screens but will settle for 15.
Looking at:
Toshiba p35-s611 (17" great price, but slow HD and questionable vid)
Toshiba p35-s629 (17" better, still slow HD, ok price, hard to find!!)
HP zdseries (great prices, nice setup, Not sure about how their local SP work.)
other?
Opinions? I'm leaning towards the s629 but its not easy to find and I worry about the performance.
I need an affordable workhorse.
