Well, I need to get sell my computer for some much needed money. I'll have some pictures up on monday or tuesday when I get my camera back.
I'm asking $1350 or best offer; email me (slapdick@gmail.com) with an offer and I'll be sure to get back to you. I take money through Paypal and will do escrow if you insist. I don't want to part with it, but I need the money and I'd rather sell it here to someone I can trust.
It's a Sager 5680, a desktop replacement laptop. Here are the specs:
- 2.8GHz Pentium-4 HT, 800MHz FSB
- 1024 MB Dual Channel DDR RAM (2x512MB)
- 100GB of storage (40GB 5400rpm Primary hard drive, 60GB 5400rpm Secondary hard drive)
- ATI 9600pro 128MB graphics card.
- 15" UXGA (1600x1200) wide-viewing-angle screen no dead pixels
- 8X DVD / 24x10x24x CDRW
- 802.11b integrated wireless
- 4x USB ports, 4-pin 1394 firewire, parallel port, tv-out (s-video), VGA out (for 2nd monitor/projector)
- SPDIF-out (also regular line-out) for 5.1 audio, headphone and microphone ports
- LAN/Modem ports, Mouse and Keyboard ports
I bought this laptop brand new in September of 2003; I needed a laptop for school and had to have something beefy for running 3d studio max, maya, premiere, and of course some games. It's performed flawlessly since then with no hardware problems. It has a little bit of wear on it, but nothing out of the ordinary for a laptop used every day. I recently replaced the front and back LCD covers because I had the infamous cracking quite a few 56xx owners have had.
The screen is in great condition. I kept it clean all the time and there are no scratches or any dead pixels. As far as laptop screens go it's one of the best I've seen. Only the Sony xBrite glossy screens look better.
It's a destkop replacement notebook, so battery life is brief at best. I've only used it on battery a few times and got at best an hour of life under light usage. Don't be surprised if you get only a half an hour.
It's definatly a fast computer. The processor is the same one used in desktop computers so it's a full Pentium-4, except on battery the processor clocks down to 1.4GHz, but other than that it runs 100%. It doesn't get hot anywhere; sometimes the left plam rest gets a little warm when the secondary hard drive is spinning constantly, but that doesn't happen much at all.
I'll get some pictures up by monday or tuesday when I get my camera back. Also included will be the rather large messenger bag (Crumpler "Very Busy Man") I use to lug around this along with some sketchbooks. The only thing I can't included is a copy of WindowsXP as I ordered it without an operating system.
