As of now the Dell is better than the 9860 in video performance and battery life. The reason for the better video performance is the Nvidia ULTRA Go 6800 card in the Dell. Hopefully Sager will release the 9860 with the ULTRA soon and Sager can take back the lead in video performance.
The battery in the dell lasts 2hrs 25mins (DVD Playback) from what I have read on the dell forums.
My sager battery lasts 1hr 10min when watching a DVD. I did manage to get 5.5 hrs battery life using an Optima Yellow Top Car Battery and a power inverter!
The Screen on the Sager is much better than the dell. Although the dell uses a WUXGA (higher res) screen than the sager the quality is poor. Many Dell users are complaining about Sparkles and bleeding of the screen. The Sager screen is absolutely perfect! It is a lower res than the dell SXGA which is plenty of desktop space.
Search the forums for WUXGA VS SXGA for comparisons between the two. The SXGA screen on the sager has a crisp, vivid, bright, glossy picture that is better than any other 17inch display I have seen.
The Sager 9860 Does offer the 600 series of P4 Processors allowing 64bit compatibility so we can Run XP 64bit and Windows Longhorn when they are released.
If I am going to sepnd 3K+ on a laptop it better be 64bit compatible!
