ummmm now when using speedswitch xp under ac how about fan noise! Can u plz set it to dynamic switching. Also do you think if i follow the undervolting tutorial the fan will not come on anymore during ac?

I have uninstalled SpeedSwitch already because I didn't like it . Under AC the fan remains on but at a very low level. This is at everything set to maximum as well (GPU, CPU, screen). If you undervolt the CPU enough (1000Mhz?) I'm sure the fan will go off. On battery the temperature goes down to about 44 degrees with the CPU at 800Mhz, and the fan turns on again a little over 50 degrees.

When you undervolt the cpu you dont change the prefromance. Your confusing undercolking to undervolting. What i am saying is on ac power everything is set on max right? Does that mean the cpu is on max and satys there cause no im wondering this may be why your fan is on all the time. Im just very curious!

Oh, now I get the whole point of dynamic switching . Yep the CPU is on max and the fans are always on. I'm going to get SpeedSwitch again and see what happens ... tell you what happens.

Well at 46 degrees right now but the fans are still on. However, where I am there is no ambient noise, and I can barely hear the fans. They are very silent. However they are not off.

44 degrees fan still on, but still silent.

42 degrees fans still on. I probaly should clarify what I mean by fans. The one place that air comes out of has air coming out of it, and I can hear the air moving out and somthing pushing it out. I don't think any air is being drawn in, air is just being pushed out.

As I understand it, there are 2 fans in the Z71v. One is a chipset fan that IS on all the time, as mentioned earlier, but is almost completely silent. The second is the CPU fan which should turn on when the laptop goes above 55 degrees Celcius. It's audible, but just as a soft whirr.

Nope nothing in the BIOS to do anything for the fan.
