Well Asus manufactures the cards (or tweaks them you could say), so you can't just go out and buy them.

you can just take out the GPU, and it costs about $200.00 US

The latest WHQL certified driver that officially is designed to work on the 6600 is the one that came on the drivers CD with the notebook. Like B Nietsnie said, the latest WHQL certified driver in general is the 76.45, and www.laptopvideo2go.com has an INF file that will make it work for the 6600. The latest non-certified driver is the 76.50, which has given me no problems at all since I installed it over 2 weeks ago.

I'm just wondering if there is any way to silent the fan? My ears are a bit sensitive at night and I can hear the fan if there is no background noise. Thanks.

A lot of people have that same problem. It's the CPU fan thats running btw, not the GPU fan. We're hoping that a new BIOS is released that fixes the problemt...

I started using the 76.44 drivers, and CS:S would randomly freeze and stall and such. I then installed the 76.45 drivers and everything works dandy. So just some advice, don't install the 76.44 drivers!

(Took me five days with Ground to Canada.)

Are you guys sure it's the CPU fan that's running and not the GPU fan? On mine, the CPU fan is never running, it's the GPU fan that comes on a lot. That GPU fan is pretty sad, tho, it's an all aluminum little tube and cools both the GPU as well as the chipset. I've been looking for a way to improve the contact between the GPU and the aluminum tube, but there's a gap and you'd need a shim of some sort. The aluminum tube/funnel thing doesn't even have fins on it.

I was wondering about the isntc warranty and if upgrading the ram in the z71v voids the warranty or not any help would be great.
Thanks in advance!
