Pictures: B Nietsnie's Asus Z71v

Here are some pictures of my Asus Z71v.

The complementary review can be found right here.

First, the unpakaging. The first picture is the box it was delivered in, the second is the inside of the original box, and the third is the inside of the second box.

Now to see the contents of the boxes. The first is the original box with the items taken out leaning against the unopened second box, the second is free stuff (), and the third is the USB drive and power adapter compared to a playing card.

The carrying bag that came with it (high quality), the first view of the computer, and the first opening of the screen.

The keyboard, the underside with battery installed, and the underside with battery taken out.

The left, back, and right sides showing the ports.

The screen, showing the viewing angles.

And some more pictures showing off its beauty

If you request any pictures I will be glad to take them for you

Can you take a few more shots of the bag and a couple more shots with the lid CLOSED? It's a real beauty when the lid is closed... hehe

So now I finally see what istnc means by a nice bag to go along with it. I may actually use that thing
post #4 of 39
That's the same bag that comes with most ASUS notebooks... it really is quite a decent bag

At first I thought of just selling the bag on Ebay. But it looks nice very comfy and for me gives the impression that its not a laptop bag more like a normal record bag. So its safe to carry our expensive Z7 in.

There are some minor differences with that bag and the bag that came with my M6Ne... although very slight, I can tell

But what if you are on an old computer that has no operating system installed. What do you do to install an OS? It sure as heck doesnt have USB boot support, most likely doesnt have cd-drive boot support, so your only option is to use floppies!
Most computers (even old ones) will have CD-ROM boot support... so installing OSes that way is quite standard now.
I haven't used floppies in a while either...

Not true. First off, lots of old computers don't even have built in cd-drives. Secondly, any computer that is 5+ years old probaly won't have support for boting from cd-drives.
Are we talking about notebooks or desktops here?
Because old pentium MMX based desktops even support booting from CD-Rom... and those are 8+ years old.
I have a pretty old Toshiba Satellite notebook (4-5 years old) that supports CD-ROM booting... but it also has a floppy drive

Sorry, notebooks lol
Oh.. well then you probably have more knowledge about that. I've only gotten into notebooks recently...
Anyhow...umm...
ASUS rocks!

i remember my first computer a 486 either 66mhz or 33 mhz didnt have cdrom support. the cdrom connector wasnt even IDE. it connected using a cable ive never seen before or will ever probably ever see again.\

well, w/ that cdrom, if you wanted to install windows via cd, you had to first go into dos and load up drivers that (i somehow found) were on floppy. plus you had to edit some .bat commands. it was such a hassle.

plus some unsophisticated mobos need flopppies to update bios.

That's actually untrue... Most notebooks nowadays will have boot support for built-in CD rom drives. This is in fact untrue of it is an external CD rom drive, but for internals, the support is there.

for modern OSs, as long as you have a cd=rom drive built in, you're fine.
