I'm an In-speer-on man myself. Does this make me an Aussie too?

Welcome back again, Axiom!

And it's "Precision Mobile Workstation."

Heh, I do say InsPERon, however.

if i use inspiron, i say in-spy-ron.... however i don't remember the english language having a definite set of rules compared to say the Academié Française. So i say that its whatever way you want to say it (think of poetry)

I can make you an honorary Aussie Ax, but you'd have to prove yourself in the backyard barbeque drinking marathon to gain full admittance.

Yep, that is how it is pronounced. I've never heard anyone pronounce it any other way. Some of the examples given here with alternate pronunciations must be due to the various accents from around the country (and world, of course). Thing is, people who speak with accents most often don't realize they even have one!

Who was the marketing genius that created a line of notebooks no one knows how to pronounce?

When I phoned to buy a dell notebook the phone rep stopped me b/f I even got the word "inspiron" out of my mouth by saying "don't even bother, I don't even know how to say it just tell me what model number you need"

FYI I pronounce it "in-sper-on"

That's why mine get to referred to as THE 9200/9300, I don't even bother saying the name. Even the computer doesn't like it, the name is coming off the back.
And another thing: what's with the model numbers? 9200, 6000? Can't they just name them sequentially? I don't recall there being 99 models between the 9200 and 9300.

Yeah I know it may sound cooler but anyone know their naming scheme?

Damn, maybe I'm dialing a "9" instead of an "8". That would explain the big phone bill.
