My old NP-8887 (which I hope to sell soon) had two PCMCIA Type II slots which were obviously able to accommodate an Echo Indigo external PCMCIA Type II sound card. However the design of my new NP-7620 (which I absolutely LOVE) makes it impossible for me to continue using the Echo Indigo because the far end of the card which houses the volume control and headphone/speaker jacks does not clear the underside of the SAGER's overhang on the PCMCIA Type II card slot. So, I will be selling the Echo card as well.

Now, the Audigy2 ZS Notebook sound card, marketed by Creative Labs (Creative.com) appears to have a much lower profile than the Echo Indigo though. Can anyone confirm whether this card will, in fact, slide all the way into the 7620's PCMCIA card slot without being obstructed by the notebook's Smart Bay?

As a second choice, if the Audigy2 will not work with the 7620's design, will the M-Audio Transit (M-Audio.com) USB sound card work with the 7620 and would it be a comparable product in terms of functionality? I know that M-Audio is known for the stability of its drivers, but is the Transit a quality product. Until I had to do research for a new sound solution for my 7620, I'd never heard of the Transit and it is a surprisingly old product, as technology goes.

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can provide any advice.
