Ordering from Australia through PC Torque

Hi everyone,

I am ready to purchase my Sager laptop, and I have chosen to purchase through PC Torque. BUT, I have heard things about international credit cards being denied?? Is there a way to contact them before hand to verify details, etc? Prehaps Paypal can be used?

Also, how good is the export warranty and how does it work?

One last thing, I am ordering it from here (Australia), but am having it shipped to a friend's parent's home in California and she is bringing it back with her in a couple of weeks... Is it possible to use an Australian payment to get posted to CA?

Thanks a lot,

Aden

The Customer service is excellent. You should be getting an answer soon, especially if you E-mail them. I ordered from Canada and paid with a money order.

I used Paypal - 3790 arrived certified mail to Japan

Hello Friend,
It worked for me to use paypal. I did it for speed and because I had the funds in my checking account. The Paypal took 4 business days to clear. Got emails from PCTorque to confirm receipt of payment, start of order processing, and shipment. Once it left PCTorque, I waited about 10 days. IMHO, that's awesome especially all the way to Okinawa Japan with the rash of Postal package robbery that happened awhile back. Also, I got a 3790 with no dead pixels. Very glad about that I must say. So I vouch for Paypal and the custumer service is awesome, no worries!

Paying with Paypal should be no problem but if you are having it shipped to a location other than your credit card's billing address (which is likely the same billign address you have registered with Paypal) you might have problems. Best thing to do is callPCT and have the them work with you. Alternately you can ask your credit card company to add the California address as an authorized shipping address. Once that is done you'll probably also need to add that to Paypal as well.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone!

I am looking to order later today especially if it take a few days for the payment to go through and for shipping in USA it takes about 3 days also?

Can I email PC Torque to organise the payment and postage instead of calling?

Thanks,

Aden

My Sager travelled 8,000+ miles (I think?)

I'm from the United Kingdom and knew nothing about laptops at all. I was browsing eBay and didn't realise I was browsing eBay.com not eBay.co.uk. That's how I came across Sager Notebooks (or are they Sager Laptops?).. anyway, checked the specs. of Sager models with other big name brands such as Compaq, Dell, IBM but the appearance/design of Sager (actually the 8790 at the time) together with the functionality and hardware spec. of the 8790 was the Rolls-Royce as far as I was concerned. I did call PC Torque but they would not ship a 8790 to the UK, I was told by their sales guy it was something to do with shipping electronic devices outside the United States due to recent terrorism alerts and their 8790 price at the time was nearly $150 more than XOTICPC (which is where I got it from and had no problems at all--cheers Justin!). Wired my money and in 6 days--two of these days were saturday and sunday so in fact in only four, yes four working days I had my Sager 8790 that shipped from California to the United Kingdom. I loved that UPS man that day!

Haha awesome!

I am saving a lot from getting my friend to bring it over with them isntead of paying postage...

I emailed PC Torque yesterday I'll check soon to see if I have a reply.

DON'T Buy from ITC in Australia

I bought my 9860 here in Australia from P4 laptops and they have been very helful, but they are only a reseller for ITC http://www.itchannel.com.au and ITC are shocking with there Tech support, I have had a problem with stuttering in games and contacted ITC numerous times with the last time they said they would ring me back and I still haven't heard back from them and it's been 3 weeks !!!. When I described my problem to them and everything I have done to try and rectify the problem (ie turn off services etc etc) the tech guy didn't even know as much as I do, I felt like I was teaching him how to do his job !!!. I wished I had bought from the US I only bought it here so I could claim it through my business which I now regret.

Well I haven't heard back from PC Torque yet, shouldn't be too long, although I want to order it tonight...

Are you still happy with the 9860 other than that problem?

BTW, I am getting a 4750

Yes iam very happy, the screen is great and I take it to work with me so I can burn dvd's and everything else that I used to do at home, the stuttering doesn't bother me that much as I will find a fix, just very upset with the support from ITC, they have to be the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Our sales office is closed on the weekend, Sager is closed on the weekend... didn't make too much sense for us to be open. If you want to forward a copy of your email to me I'll see what I can do .

Ok, the latest is that I will pay using wire transfer from Australia... Only costs an extra AU$20 so it's worth it.

I'll let you all know my experiences.

Yes mine is the 17" Widescreen, and is an AWESOME display, I love it personally I have not seen any other screen as good as it. Btw I just got home from work (work nightshift) and I have an email from ITC, which is funny seeing how I posted yesterday about the bad support funny coincident lol

If you speak with Matt from P4 Laptops he will tell you all about my problems, he has been very helpful, when I ran into a brick wall with ITC, if you could PM me your contact number and details I will ring you.
