Which BIOS revision are you using? How are your fans acting?
It seems like my M6Ne never runs "properly"...regardless of the BIOS revision

Version 0203, runs great for me, despite being "old". I also heard 0205 was OK, but never used it.

running the latest and greatest, cuz I'm trying to get the IR port to work in SP2, hoping new BIOSes will let me do that. I think you guys are a little too worried about the whole fan and noise issue, but hey, people expect nothing but perfection on this forum!

I just did a reinstall, updated to sp2. Then I installed the IR driver off the original disk. I turned IR on on my phone, then placed it next to my laptop's IR port. Windows picked it up and asked me if I wanted to install an IR modem driver for it also. Seems to be working great and I'm using bios 0203.

I just don't like noise... and it seems like I get two extremes no matter which BIOS I choose:
0204-0206 seem to be the most consistent: the fan doesn't turn on until 70+ degrees, but turns off ~65 degrees.
0207-0208: fan behaviour is somewhat sporadic... but keeps the computer cool (~50 degrees)... but there are also instances when the fan just doesn't turn off, regardless of how cool it is.

I'm kind of frustrated...

Hmmm, interesting, well it doesn't work for me, at least not the last time I tried... will try again soon...

I'm now tempted to try bios 0203...

Don't expect anything good. On my system, which used to have perfect fan behavior on 0205, after it got flashed to 0206 by Asus, returning to 0205 didn't restore the original 0205 behavior. Now it's possible that Asus actually changed something else hardware-wise, and that's why going back to 0205 didn't work, but I doubt it. None of the work orders on that trip mentioned anything about actual hardware replacements. Of course now I'm on a new motherboard, and it definitely doesn't behave well on 203 or 205. I think they've had a few motherboard revisions since the line was introduced, and an earlier BIOS just won't properly run a newer board.

That really sucks... my M6Ne came with 0204 originally, but the fans still didn't behave right. The fan would come on at 75 degrees and turn off at 70... I found that too hot for my liking.
0205 acts the same... the BIOS logo is really the only difference I notice.
0206 was slightly better... fan turned on at 70, turned off at 65.
0207 and 0208 are hard to describe... the fans will probably come on around 55, and turn off at 50... but that's only sometimes. Sometimes, the fan just locks on 3600RPM and refuses to stop. Although these two bioses keep my M6Ne noticably cooler than the other ones, they're also the most unpredictable in terms of fan behaviour/noise.

I haven't tried 0203...

What are your idle temps when on:
1) Game Mode
2) Super Performance

I'm curious to see how hot all of your M6s get...

0208 Here. Rarely have a fan issue throughout any of the revisions. Running at 45 C right now @ 600mhz, run about 52-54 at 1.7 (max). Occasionally (rare) the fan stays on for long durations even though the notebook is cool. Rare = 1 or 2 times a month? Doesn't bother me. Its 95% perfect for me.

Do your fans actually turn off? or do they just spin quietly?
I don't think my fans (with 0207/0208) ever turn off. They either spin very quietly (virtually inaudible) or are loud...

Since I'm in a quiet room all the time, this really pisses me off.

Heh, turn on some music or open the window and let the bird sounds (or traffic sounds) in.
