I don't think coolbits clocks down for 2D or when on battery, although it says it does, if you monitor the clock with rivatuner it never drops.

I think because we have a mobile version of the video card it automatically underclocks to what ever it wants regardless of what you put for your 2d speeds. I have about 5+ hours of mhz logs on gpu and mem and it varies from 2.5mhz and up in the ram and 9.5mhz and up in the gpu.

every program except for powerstrip uses registry mods, which are driver level tweaks, that essentially, can be done in the drivers config if you just run coolbits. They are pretty much frontends for your vid card config.

power strip runs along side and controls things with its own methods.

You should be fine with just running coolbits and adjusting stuff through the driver setup tabs. Unless you 'fail' tests and can't overclock as high as you would like, then get riva tuner or powerstrip.

I have Powerstripe but the slider top out at 386/785, is there a way to go higher since I have no artifacts, or should I just install coolbits
