Looks very nice. But I would have bumped it to the 1.6Ghz/533 Mhz FSB option.

first of all congrats on your purchase
If I understand your question correctly, the I6000 will have both wireless and a wired connection built in.

Depending on what your plans are, I would consider a larger hard drive, out of that 30 gigs you will only have about 25 gigs free when your unit arrives.

Thanks ,

This lapy would be mainly used for business and some travel. I though 30Gb + DVD burner would be just fine for that. I haven't even noticed that 1.6 option has 533/Mhz FSB... shame
Other than that, if that spooky Wireless 1350 Internal Wireless has both wireless and PCI, would be just perfect
I have to educate myself about these network cards

well it would mainly depend on what you need it for. You can always upgrade the HD later.

For my own use the larger HD was imperative as I am using this new unit as a desktop replacement.

Nice laptop, nice price, be sure to do a review when you get it.

hmmm, no video card, only integrated? I might have went with some cheap graphics, but it solely depends on what you plan on using it for. No gaming, no need for graphics card. But graphics on the i6000d aren't fantastic anyway. What coupons did you use, if any

The 1350 wireless is the PCI card, and as I understand it, the 6000 has and integrated ethernet card. So you're covered on both.

Nice specs and a nice price. Let us know how you like it when you get it. And remember you have the 21 day return if you don't like it.

Well,

I' ll be surprised if any game is ever installed on this lapy, so video graphics is not a concern. Other than that, I bought it from outlets yesterday night at 2am. I think there's really nice offers during nighty time. Free shipping for any refurbished laptops right now, and a discount of 49$ is what I ve been able to benefit from that deal.
I ll be sure to write a short review when I get it, hopefully in 12-14 days.
Take care all and thanks again for your help and opinions.

Do you have another laptop? If so, which is it?

Sorry, I'm curious because I'm becoming a 2-lappy owner soon.

Yep, got one i8600 desktop replacement for main use and games. I just bought an i6000 for the office, but if I had to purchase second one for me personally, I would go for a light and mobile 700m. Check outlets, they seem pretty attractive right now.

Oh thanks, I had been checking that out too but with my $600 coupon I got a really good deal on a new i700. My i9100 is so heavy and I'm a student, so it's hard to deal with on the go. People think I'm nuts for having two laptops... but I really think it's going to work out well for me. In retrospect, I actually wish I had gotten the i8600 instead of the i9100.

I am student too, and I feel having 2 laps is just fine if you can afford it. I would like to have one lighter just like the 700m for going on campus, in the library etc.
ENjoy yours and don't pay attention to those

hehe, thanks.

I guess I'm also justifying it to myself because it does seem a bit excessive, even to me. But it just makes sense! ahhh sorry, I'll shudd up now

In the meantime I'm really really getting excited about the arrival of my 700m!
