You asked for an opinion so here it is:
Depends a lot on you. You have not told us much about you to make judgments.
Extreme - XPS2
Excellent - 9300 with go6800
Very good - XPS1
Pretty good - 9300 with X300
Fairly good -
Allows me to play - nVidia 4600ti (My 128Mb $299 old desktop card thats 3 years old)
One year from now:
Extreme - XPS3 (expect to be delayed because of intel delay in release of duel core Pentium M chips)
Excellent - 9500 (same as xps3, expect 9400 as hold over
Very good - XPS2
Pretty good - 9300
Fairly good - XPS1
Two years from now:
Allows you to play – XPS1 (3 years old)
Is your XPS1 your first notebook?
Or are you an obsessive compulsive notebook upgrader who buys 3-4 notebooks a year and sells the others on e-bay.
If your like me, my XPS2 is the first notebook that is truly mine. I went from Nothing to Extreme. Ill be keeping it for a long time. So I bought big and will hang on until i just about cant stand it. If your going from XPS1 to 9300 with Go6800 then your going from Very Good to Excellent. (one degree of significant increase)
So if you plan to sell your XPS1 on e-bay and be an obsessive upgrader. Then get the 9300 with go6800. If your like the rest of the world. Hold off a while longer and just lust after the new stuff while you enjoy today's "Very Good" performance of your XPS1.
