Philosophy of the Phase

Philosophy of the Phase

I am now a soon to be proud owner of new Alienware laptop. Also it now is understandable all of the phase topics in this category , and what they mean, they have come into a calm understanding that only someone who has to wait for an Alienware will understand. I just didn’t know until well… now. I have to wait 3 weeks for my computer in the mail which looking at it in foresight is exactly what I want.
Demands for a new computer have irked me for some time now so I deiced to go shopping for one. I am not as cool as my students (or fake for the majority of young undergrads) so I couldn’t get an apple. I’m sure they are good computers though. Dell, well for me is to corporate and mass produced I’m not a normal dude, … well at least not a sheep. I want something that I know I worked hard for and I want to show for it to myself. So I decided to get an Alienware.
In ordering one I see that they are not cheap and considering in needs to last me at least 4 years well what the hell.
But here is the PHASE Philosophy………………Most of you people have finished or are in or will go to college and it takes a while to finish it. So you work hard ,study, and frankly you finished or will finish. I DID. All the years of college and now well ,I feel like the transition to where I am now was worth the wait. I have graduated to a new place and a new animal. I think the same goes for the idea of the phase. Nothing REAL is granted through instantaneous pleasure. The best things are granted to delayed pleasure. Like college it takes a while but in the end it pays off. I will wait for my computer in anticipation of being one of the few people in this world who have something better and different. But not only that I want to be one of the people who wait out the wait for something more promising and gratifying but, I want to be one of the few people who understand gratification.
I’ve gotten older and patience has become a virtue (never thought it would happen) and everyday is not as fruitful as the next but the PHASE lets me appreciate that tomorrow will bring a something new and different. I LIKE THE PHASE. Youth is flying away and the time I wait in anticipation for this Alienware (as little as material thing that it is) my Alienware PHASE becomes a metaphor for a appreciating life a little slower, the way it should be, in apprehension of better things. Enjoy the PHASE because most people don’t understand what it is to get something interesting and individual they just know how to criticize. For all you people that had to go, or are going through the phase I bow my head in saying “I respect the wait you have or are now going through”. Its nice to see people in the world who understand what it is to wait and be patient for the better things in life. SO I say to you all out there, enjoy the wait, relish it, because sooner or latter the wait will be gone and there will be nothing else there. Enjoy the PHASE. ENJOY.

Obiwon,
Thanks for the comment . I am still on phase two and man, im enjoying the crap out of it. I have no regrets and I hope I wont in the future. I like how you called it the "animal". Intresting choice of the word ,kind of puts a reflective view on the PHASE. I have read quite a bit of the posts under the diffrent companies in the forums and I like the family outlooks and positive views of Alienware users. They seem to be a few steps outside of the box, im sure, like yourself .

Wilford Brimley?

rock on yellosi

Im right there with you in the Phases. Ive only been in for a solid week as of today and im just as excited now as i was the second i hung up the phone with sales. The words you speak are wise and realizing good things come to those who wait puts the whole phase issue into perspective. I too am glad such a community exsists for consumers of high priced, quality material goods. It is a machine but a machine that, in as much as I can tell will be an important investment.

Im currently one of the undergrads and need a new machine for engineerding. I thought about the Apple only because of its supieority in multitasking. The reasons for me not purchasing an apple are because im used to windoze plus the upgrading capabilities surpassed my expectations while researching this new investment. good luck to you and enjoy the wait.
