I am torn between the Asus M6BNe and the Compal CL56. Does the 128mb vram make a difernece when gaming and how do the screens compare.

Thanks a lot

Asus, all the way. The 128 mb of vram will make a minor difference, at best.

Any reason you aren't thinking bout the Asus Z71v?

The only real reason that i am not looking at the Z71v is because i dont like the look of it as much as the other two.

Is the screen the only diference between the M6Ne and the B?

I think so, yes.

M6Ne = SXGA+ (1400 x 1050)
M6BNe = WXGA (1200 x 800)

Yeah im starting to think the Asus Z71v is over rated too. Way to many people jumping on the band wagon just because of the gpu and price.

yeah, it's a shame people want a decent laptop they can afford... Like everything, it all depends on what you're looking for.

HUH

You know all this started with you.... But it just seems lately more and more posts have come up about this laptop. Its kinda ugly, and I think Sager makes better laptops to begin with. But thats just my opinion.

Actually, I believe it all started with B Nietsnie, who started the first Z71V thread here. That said, I made the comment becuase you mentioned that several people bought it for the price. It seems logical to me that people would want to get a reasonably priced computer. I was just having a bit of fun with my response. No offense intended.
For the record, I agree with you that Clevo/Sager makes great notebooks. I started coming to this forum just after the 3790 came out, and that was at the top of my list until the Clevo M400A was anounced. I bought the Asus because it had all I wanted and seemed like it would be out sooner than Sager would release their model of the M400A (4880, although I didn't know it at the time). If I was going to buy a notebook 6 weeks or so from now, I'd go for Sager's version of the Clevo38AW (3790 replacement/upgrade). However, it hadn't been announced yet, so I went for the first thing that matched all my criteria. But Sager definitely makes good products, and I'm not knocking them in any way. I'm just happy with the computer I got, that's all. If you think it's ugly, you're entitled to your opinion, and several share it. Just get the computer that's best for you!
