Longing for a 3750… at least today.

I was wondering if anyone has heard if Pctorque will be carring the 3750.
As tempted as I am by all the other fine machines they carry gaming is about the last thing I need to do on a laptop.

I don't know if they plan to offer it on their website but I emailed them and they said to email admin@pctorque.net with the configuration that you want for a quote. I will be ordering mine next week.

I sent them an email on Friday, but I thought I would post here to see if anyone else might know anything.

I tend to be impatient.
No place seems to offer it built with Bluetooth, I assume this is not just an add on doogle.

headache, thoughts not clear...

The only site that is selling this system is Sager. I've called Powernote13ook.com to ask them if they were going to carry this laptop and they flatout said "No". I understand how you are feeling, I am very impatient too -- especially since I have been waiting so long to order. Also, I've been going back and forth between the 3750, the 4060 and the 5680 but I keel coming back to the 3750 -- screen size, battery life, weight, etc. So, keep this thread posted on how your ordering is going. What are your config?

R&J has them, and the price is a little better than they are at Sager.

Prices aside, I think it is clear that PC Torque has a reputation that is beyond reproach.

I hate to admit that I am too much of a wimp to be lugging around most of the gaming rigs.

So, bwana, when are you going to bite the bullet and order one?

I emailing for a quote today.

I have yet to get a response to the email I sent Friday, though I spoke to my financial advisor and he said that I am good to go.
The joy of being unemployed, is every decision that costs money needs to be cleared.

Did you decide on your configuration?
I would order today if I get a response.

Not that there are a lot of options, but that was almost exactly what I was going to order with the exception of the DVD-RW drive and seeing if I can get Bluetooth on it.

This just in response to my email…

“We are currently testing a 3750 demo model to determine whether it would be worth carrying on our site. Any updates involving the 3750 will probably be mentioned in the news section on www.sagerforums.com.”

Who wrote that? That was not what I was told.

This is what I was told:

Rice,
We've just finished testing it. The screen, in particular, is spectacular. Just drop admin@pctorque.net an email with the specs you want and we'll get you a good price.
not happy!

I just got an email back telling me I could order it from them, but it did not go into what they thought about it.

I think it is an email order only thing right now. Sorry to alarm you. I just sent my specs in for a quote; I just hope I remembered everything.

Sorry for the confusion...let me try to clear this up.

Adam has done a complete work-up of the 3750. If there are any specific questions about it, post them here and he will answer as best he can. He won't post the review unless we carry it.

There is very, very limited availability of these, so we are not yet certain we will carry them. We *are* ordering them for our customers that know this is what they want - just send us an email through the website and we will take care of you.

I can tell you that the screen is STUNNING! Truly amazing to look at. All the Sagers have GREAT screens, but this screen is incredible. It also 4 speaker plus sub woofer sound system - very neat. Not to tempt anyone.

Let me know if there are any questions.

Sincerely,
Laura @ PC Torque

Thank you Laura.

I have just gotten the ball rolling on ordering this, but I would love to hear Adams impressions on the 3750; just so I don’t second guess myself.

I have a review I'll post up when I get to it... with adding desktops and color options to our site things are a bit busy =).

I got 2:18 on DVD playback battery life and that's straight from Sager with no cycling or anything, just a full charge. I don't think the speakers sound as good as the 4760 that also has the 4 speaker and sub dua to their placement and design of the laptop, but they do sound great for a laptop. The LCD is amazing. We have it on display here and everyone that walks in wanting a desktop or hardware, it catches their eye. It's like a glass finish look that gives the display a wet look like everything on the screen is freshly painted there. The only drawback to a screen like this is in certain lighting things can reflect off the screen like a mirror almost. Sager has very few of them and we may just stick with orders by quote and here at the local store. Many have commented wanting that screen with the power of the 8890 that have come by to try them out. The video is fine for Photoshop work and the power is fine for normal apps. For video work and gaming it's not going to cut it, but everything else it will do fine. For kicks I ran 3DMARK01 and it scored around an 1800 =).

That screen sounds exactly like Toshiba's CASV screen.
Any word on when the 5680 will get this better screen?
Sounds like that "plexiglass style" that is becoming popular in LCD panels (stand-alones). Saw one at best buy the other day, and the "glass-look" in front of the LCD is a great idea, provided it doesn't fade or yellow. Plus it protects the LCD (granted, one cannot attempt to "massage" a stuck pixel, but oh well).

It'd be interesting to see some enterprising guy or gal try to make aftermarket kits for existing machines/panels...

PS: get those desktop systems up soon, I'm going to be in the market for one in a few weeks
