Question about T42.

Hi guys, Newbie here.
Have a vaio, looking to get a t42.
My question is about what I have read on IBM site, called Ultra slim bay.
What exactly is this ? Is this the regular optical drive that contains the combo drive ?
They have an accessory called Hard drive adapter for Ultra slim bay.
They don't have much info on this on thier website.
My question is, If I buy a hard disk adapter, Can I add the second hard disk to the laptop and have the battery, 2 hard drives and the combo drive all at once in the laptop ?

Appreciate your help.

Thanks.

I don't exactly know what the Ultra slim bay is.
I know there's a software on T42 machine that if you shock the computerm, the software will stop the hard drive automatically.
You can have several hard drives and a combo drive at once, theoriatically.
But why do you need so many hard drive?

The extra hard drive is designed to fit in the CDRW/DVD bay - you can't have both the extra hard drive and CDRW device inserted at the same time. Battery is in its own separate slot so no problem there.

the trays are hotswapable. I have an a31 and im able to swap between cd-rom drive, floppy drive and a spare battery without a reboot. Im also looking into buying the t42 but I cant decide if I should take the plung and purchase an x40. Any opinion? Im not sure if having no optical drive would bother me or not.

thanks guys.

Thanks guys for your response.
I did some more research meanwhile and found that You can have either the
cd drive or the second hard drive in the ultra slim bay.
That sounds good to me.

Will let you know once I order it.

Thanks.
