i got that error since i buy my new 8886 and there's two possibility, 1- There's a drivers problem 2- That an hardware failure... which hardware... i dunno! I'm pretty sure that i'm not the only one with this damnit problem. In my computer, i done everthing this week, i format it... i only have xp so i cant tell if that the same thing in 98... but the error is always there... i search for every new drivers available from intel and sager.. i got the catalyst 3 installed... On MS technet http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...asp?frame=true
They tell anything on this site... i they dont really provide a solution to that!
I become to be a little confused about that...

When does the error come up? Why do you say others have had the problem, do you know of anyone on the forums who has? If you think it is a hardware problem, I would suggest going into the device manager and disabling different hardware components to see if it is being caused by one of them... PCTorque will prolly have more suggestions when he sees your post. Best of luck and let us know what happens!

You may want to check for hard drive errors by right clicking your hard drive under my computer and clicking the tools tab. More information as to when it's doing it and such would also help. THIS is what I'm assuming you're referring to.

I think that i'm gonna try to reformat my computer with a good old FAT32 partition... just to test... in the problem resolution, they talk about NTFS... not fat 32 :P I'm sure that's a software problem, because everything in the computer seem to be good... it can work fine for an hour and crash with the damn KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

Also, what do you have your pagefile set at? Do you have one hard drive or two? And how much ram do you have?

The reason I ask is because if you have a gig of ram, you could completely remove your pagefile... then defragment your hard drive and put it back on as a nonvariable size (that's the best way to do it anyway... make the initial size and the maximum size the same, so it doesn't grow and shrink and get fragmented). You could just remove it completely and see if the problem goes away... then you'll at least know it was a pagefile problem... like an error in the pagefile. Formatting should take care of this, too, but you might try less drastic measures first to see if you can isolate the problem. lol, so you'll know what really caused it :-)
