Anyone know how to turn off those annoying pop up adds from the windows messenger service? I figured this out before but I cant remember where I found the instructions.

I hate microsoft crap, so for purposes of pure enjoyment:
1. load taskmanager
2. load norton quarantine
3. locate the file on your HD
4. terminate it through TM and quaratine it before it re-executes
5. delete quarantined file
6. laugh maniacally for destroying MS' precious messenger
ha ha ha ha ha!

Damn I hate messenger. When I am playing cs, a freakin window pops up telling me to buy software to stop the pop-up that just happened, then when I go back into cs, no sound! It is a useless program in windows that has no purpose but to interupt my gaming.

Actualy it has lots of uses in a corporate environment. Inter machine notifications, immediate notification that the power's out. Stuff like that. I use it all the time. I don't think it should be part of the consumer level OS but it is.

I only got these messages for a day or two, but from what I can tell all they advertise for is a utility to stop them from happening...Thats like some guy with the plague passing it on to people and then selling them the cure. If he had never given them the plague they wouldn't have to pay them. It's extortion plain and simple. Much like the mafia who forced people to pay "protection money". But who did they protect them from? Typically just themselves.
