Sleeve for TM8100 series?

Has anyone bought or already have a sleeve that works well with the TM8100 series yet? I've been looking around at a few options, and have heard great things about the Shinza ZeroShock case. They have a "15-inch (Large)" model that seems like it would fit the TM8100 well. Is it just me, or are 15.4" widescreen notebooks a fairly new standard, because 90% of sleeves i'm finding are sticking to the 4:3 ratio it seems. Also, more often than not I'm finding sleeves designed around Apple's iBook and PowerBook series.

Options I am considering are:
-Booq Vyper-L (http://www.booqbags.com/Detail.bok?no=98)
-Shinza ZeroShock 15" Large (http://shinza.com/product_info.php?c...products_id=63)
-Shoreline 15.4" Laptop Sleeve (http://laptoptravel.com/product.aspx?pc=SHORESLEEVE15.4)
-Sumdex Large Laptop Sleeve (http://www.ebags.com/sumdex/large_la...modelid=15611#)
-Sumdex ImpactGuard Insert Sleeve 15.4" (http://www.ebags.com/sumdex/impactgu...NDA=N-20010505)
-McKlein Vertical Standard Universal Laptop Shuttle (http://www.ebags.com/mcklein/vertica...?modelid=11624)

Also, any other experiences with any of these sleeves with other notebooks is helpful as well. I've done a good amount of research myself, but was hoping for direct experience with the TM8100 and a good sleeve. Thanks!

Edits: Added more potential sleeve candidates.

Nice research. If you could put up a table that shows the different prices of each website and differences between each sleeve, it would be great.

I own the Sumdex large sleeve, and am very happy with it. It's thin, very light, and definitely cooler looking than than it looks in pictures online. It also fits the 8104 perfectly, snug but not too tight.

It looks like the shinza would protect it better, but I'm fine with my sumdex. I'm sure you can't go wrong with either choice.

nice post airscottie. I just got my laptop not too long ago. It's in the repair right now. Is there a difference between the sleeve and a regular laptop case?

Sleeves are meant to be exactly what they sound like. They're no frills protection (padded, rigid, etc) for your notebook, and can be dropped into any bag. Cases (in general) tend to be full bags/briefcase/backpacks, with a built-in padded section for the notebook, and have more pockets for accessories, books, cables, etc. In short, sleeves = minimalistic protection for laptop, cases = all-in-one-carry-all solution.

Sleeves, IMHO, have the advantage of allowing you to carry your notebook safely in any bag of your choice. Also, you don't have to reinvest in a quality backpack/brief with a built-in padded pocket. Also, IMO, most notebook cases look bulky and overdone, and are just too much. The point of a notebook is to carry as little as possible, right?

Thanks. Now i understand what the sleeves are used for.

I was just looking at the Shinza ZeroShock 15 incher (Large) , and it seems that it would be slightly too small for the 8100 series.

The interior dimensions for the Shinza are 13.98 W x 1.57 D x 11.81 H inches and the Acer site shows the 8100 is 14.3" (363.0mm) W x 10.5" (265.7mm) D x 1.2" - 1.4" (30.5mm - 34.3mm) H (I think Acer's a little confused over depth and height, but that's OK).

In any case the width is slightly too small on the Shinza. Doesn't that concern you?

Yeah, it concerned me when I was doing research into buying a sleeve of my own and it certainly factored into my decision to purchase the sumdex. Some sites let you enter the dimensions of your laptop and then they only display sleeves/cases that are sure to fit, and I noted that the shinza didn't show up. At any rate, I'd definitely recommend the sumdex large laptop sleeve.

OK... I'm seriously considering the Booq Vyper-L for my 8104, but I'm not sure it will fit. The Vyper-L says it is 14.2" wide, and the 8104 is 14.3". So close!! Has anyone seen a Vyper-L? Will it stretch any? Thanks.

The appropriate sleeve from sfbags.com is very good

Dash: I had seen/heard about SFbags, but IMO, they're overpriced and for a feature like a simple *flap* they charge an extra $15. That's simply too much on top of a 50 dollar bag.

White94Cobra: I've measured my TM8100 myself, and it comes out to 14.25 at best.

I doubt any soft/fabric sleeve is going to be that discerning, even if it's semi-rigid. The Acer's non-traditional (wide-screen) dimensions mean the case will have some slack on the depth (from the front edge w/speakers to the back edge where the battery is), and it is also not as thick as many comparable laptops.
Considering that, I'm fairly confident the Booq Vyper will accomodate it. I think I'll be ordering one up fairly soon, as soon as my finances allow it (college student). I'll report back here. I've been carrying my notebook around in a shoddy soft-foam sleeve that came with a messenger bag I bought from the Gap years ago, and it's just way too insubstantial to protect my baby from anything more than a couple scratches.

Worse comes to worst, I'll go in on the Sumdex ImpactGuard, which I know will fit. It's gotten some good press as well.
