Do you get the same support when you buy from Dell outlet? Such as 21 days return policy, LCD replacement?

The return period is 14-days, but other than that, everything is the same. Same warranty, same support, and the systems I've purchased have been indistinguishable from new.

BTW, $1600 is not a bad price for an XPS2, but I think the 9300's are still better deals. If I see an XPS2 for $1000, I'll jump on it, though

I ordered a 600m from them. I got what I think is a decent deal. My question is, if I dont like it or it is blemished can I return it for a full refund? Otherwise I dont want to risk it and I am just going to cancel before it ships. Also how do the decide the 14 days? Is it from time of ship?

Yeah, it's 14 days from the invoice date, which is the day they ship. And, yes, you can return it for a full refund.

Most of these systems are either brand new, or maybe used for a week or so. Once your system ships, you can get your service tag from your online invoice and check the original ship date (from the previous buyer). If the original date was less than a month ago, you've got essentially a brand new system that somebody decided they didn't want.

But if the original ship date was from a year ago, it's probably a system that got exchanged due to a warranty repair. These get fixed up to be like-new, but they may have some scuff marks or something.

um, I'm feeling screwed now.

ha ha, but it doesn't come with a quicksnap like mine. The extra $700 I paid for my quicksnap cover is worth it!

Hey, that's what I'm here for.

Seriously, it's much easier to buy new and you can usually get better deals buying new with a coupon. But sometimes those outlet guys have a crazy sale, like now. Every ebayer in the world hits the outlet during sales like this, and some of them are pretty sophisticated -- using server farms running automated scripts to snatch up the bargains.

You would not believe some of the deals I've seen. I won't tell you about them, because then you'd feel REALLY screwed.

The price you save by buying from the outlet: ~$700

The value of knowing someone else didn't use it as bathroom entertainment: priceless

BTW I still don't understand why some people feel the need to bring a laptop into the bathroom with them. geez eat some fiber!
Alot of people sell these on ebay? Novel idea. Is this a good deal? I figure since it is less than 5lbs I might enjoy taking it with me. Thanks for the 15% off Dellbert.

Hey, where did you think Dell's Malaysian elves assemble these laptops? New machines are fine as long as you can't smell those fingerprints all over your display.

*All* Dell's laptops have been touched by humans. And you don't get to choose who touched yours.

True, but I doubt the elves have abused them as much as some people seem to do here. Most likely you'll get a clean machine, but you never know...

Frankly, I don't think that's a great deal on a 600m. It's about the same price you could get them for with the $750-off coupon they've been running recently.

A good rule of thumb is to configure the best deal you can find new with a coupon, and then hunt for a better deal in the outlet. I wouldn't pull the trigger unless the outlet deal saved me at least $300.

How come there were dozens of 700m, 9200 and 9300 laptops at the outlet last week when I checked, and now virtually nothing?! I have a weird suspicion something freaky is going on...

The 15% coupon cleared them out.
