The question is after was spend our time explaining it and choose it for you. Will you buy it? eheheh

smilepak is right... no offence, but I think after you've got plenty of input, you need to go to each shop yourself to have a look and feel, and explore more, because I think words can not explain better than looks (seeing is believing).

And because last time you've had a bad experience with Toshiba (am I right?), so you might need to scrap Toshiba from one of your option.

Not trying to preach...... just try to give options.....

Peace...

Why is that? Asus make some damn good laptops.

Probably due to his location or maybe the demands of the his benevolent wallet (parent)?

Go with the low-end HP NW8240, for it will certainly give you the best performance and best mobility for 2200. It's 'high-end' counterpart is crap, its 3400 dollars more for 512KB more RAM and a 7k turn HDD.

Okay this looked good http://www.i-store.com.au/product/?C...productid=5347
ASUS M6R -DUAL Layer DVDRW- PM735 1.7G/256mb(+ free 256mb)/60GB(4200rpm)/15.4"WXGA/ATi 9100-128MB SHARED/DVD-+RW-DL/54G WLAN/4-WAY SPKS/XPP N/B, Dual layer DVD is the next hot thing, the 128 graphic mem is good too. I like 80gig HD 5400 though ( I have a 60gig and find it almost too small)

ASUS V6800V6V PM740-1.73GHz (NEW, SONOMA)/512MB DDR2 400/60GB 5400rpm/15" SXGA/ATI X600(PCI-Express)/WIFI-G/2X DVD-RW DUAL LAYER/XPPRO N/Book
