The video card is like an X700, but the driver it uses is more tuned for 'professional' applications.

It is a nice laptop, but costs over $1000 more than a similarly-equiped Acer TM8104 (which has a 'normal' x700). I hope work gives me one later this year though.

lol 114 thousand, that takes the cake. Where is that kid that says money is no object for his college laptop??? he needs to get that

This notebook looks so nice, plus thin and light, and with WUXGA, wow if only I had 3900 to blow, to bad ive got less than 2500. Im waitin till the w2v comes out. maybe it will be similar?

I'm looking around for any reviews on the 8240, but I see none. Does anyone have another opinion as to how the FireGL will perform? I'm having a real hard time trying to decide...

Besides, is it possible to upgrade the hard drive and RAM in this notebook? They don't have it customizable on the website, so could I just buy a Gig stick and throw it in with the 512k? And when the 100GB7k turn comes out, could I replace the low end hard drive with that?
