Hello all,

Though you all might be interested in a survival story of a Gateway laptop. It all started when I plugged the laptop into my surge protector for my surround sound system and laid it on top of my entertainment center (I know, I know... heights are bad for laptops ). Anyway, I had neglected to wind the cord up so it was laying on the ground (yes, yes, I know...cords catch feet ).

Well, guess what, the cord did catch my foot. The laptop fell... in slow motion (4ft drop I might add) . Worse yet, when it hit the ground, it landed on the back corner where the lan/modem connections are. The chassis is slightly cracked and a little crumpled. No damage to the screen, power connection, or drives.

Though the plastic casing around the lan connection was broken a little, it still worked. As far as I can tell, everything still works on the laptop. It has been almost two weeks now since the fall. I am truly amazed. Though I do not advocate dropping a laptop 4 ft, I can't believe it works. I guess just a testament to the build quality of the laptop. GooooOOOOO GATEWAY!!! (or whoever built it for them).
