On my Compaq R3000z, I want to install Ubuntu. I've tried the live-cd version and really like it. Seems to work pretty well "out of the box". My only problem is the wireless card (which isn't a big deal), and the fact that I can't resize my main WinXP partition to actually INSTALL Ubuntu (which is a big deal). Everything I've tried, i.e. qtparted, partition magic, ubuntu's partition manager thingy, doesn't want to resize the partition and gives me errors. It's a 60 gig drive with almost 40 gigs free, I only want to shrink the XP partition about 5 gigs, I defragmented right before I attempted any of this. What could be my problem?
