HP Pavilion zt3000 cannot get 1280x800 res option on w/ WXGA

Hi everyone!

I have two zt3000's. the old one has the 1280x800 option, the new one (WXGA) has 10 options but NOT the 1280x800. Unfortunately, all the options it does have are not quite right - either tiny, or stretched out / look strange.

Question: why would one zt3000 have this 1280x800 and the other does not, I'd think if anything the upgraded one would and the old one wouldnt! And how can I get this option on - is that possible? The default setting for the new wxga one is 1920x1200 and it is TEENY!

Its win xp home btw. 15.4 screen.

Thanks - im going nuts with this weird looking screen

Go to the HP site and download the ATI drivers. Be sure to look carefully as there screwy revision numbers go up, down, and sideways. Use date for finding most current.

After installing the ATI software/drivers you will have the Wide Panel Display windows.

Native Windows Drivers written provided to MS by ATI does not include wide panel options.

You will require the manufacture specific drivers written by ATI

GOOD LUCK!
