Actually the I915 Chipset can address 4GB.
There just arent any 2GB Modules out there atm.

Thread Starter
Just read through everything and I think I've made my decision. In canada I will be buying a 1 gig stick for 240 i believe. Which isn't as good of a value. But only 5 dollars or so more then 2 512's. Plus I should get a bit of extra boost from the 1 256. Based on what you guys are saying 1.256 of ram will perform better then two identical 512 sticks? Right? Thanks again guys.

I think Infineon recently announced that 2GB DDR2 SODIMMS will be available in June. The price is probably astronomical.

You know, I thought that was it. Can you provide a link to any hard facts?

On the purchasing side, if it makes a difference the cheapest (and sometimes by far) place to get mem is www.computergiants.com they have Kingston 2GB Kit 533MHz DDR2 PC2-4200 DIMM for about $270 and other 2 gb kits simalarly priced. That's about as much as 1gb at other places. If it makes it where you can buy 2gb now then no need to quarel over perfomence of matching over unmatched mem. Hope it helps
